BEEF ISLAND, VI- The BVI Airports Authority (BVIAA) is pleased to announce the resumption of its night operations.

The T.B. Lettsome International Airport is now open from 7:00 A.M. through 9:00 P.M. effective immediately. Opening was facilitated by the reinstallation of guidance, circling and obstruction lights that were damaged during the passage of Irma and Maria.

The Managing Director would like to thank the staff of the BVIAA and all others involved in making night operations once again possible.

Passengers are reminded to arrive at the airport at least two (2) hours prior to scheduled departure times in order to accommodate additional regulated security measures. The support and patience of the public are hereby solicited, as there may be times of un-serviceability as we continuously make changes to and upgrade our systems to better serve you.

It was disappointing to see how long it took 3 months to have the necessary repairs carried out. Is the NDB fixed as yet ? Why is it that individuals luggage have to be singled out for manual inspection. Don't you have a scanner like other airports? If you don't then I would suggest that it cannot be safe traveling out of Beef Island. If you do scan luggage why do you need to physically inspect by individuals who go to great pain to search even envelopes. We are definitely third world. I actually prefer flying out of St Thomas rather than Beef Island. It is disgusting and embarrassing to passengers the way they are handled. Mr Frazer wake up and small the coffee
