ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – The New Life Foundation (NLF) of the British Virgin Islands was officially launched today, September 4, 2012 with a mission to improve communities by promoting and inspiring health and wellness and ultimately creating a higher quality of living for all.

In a press conference held at the Treasure Isle Hotel, Founder and advisor of the Foundation, Bishop John I. Cline, sought to give a firsthand look at what the Foundation was and how they planned to inspire and empower healthier communities.

Bishop Cline said his thoughts in doing the foundation were to pull away from under the religious umbrella and make it a non-religious organization (even though it was owned by the church) with a broader community focus.

The Foundation, Cline added, “is about more than physical health…” rather he noted, “it encompassed a whole range of wellness.”

It was hoped that this could be done through promoting healthy living and lifestyles by collaborating with the various community and government organisations to provide and increase health and wellness programmes via both public and private partnerships.

He said the Foundation aims to work in the area of environmental health as well as with youth.

President of the New Life Foundation, Chauncey Cline said that the group also wished to work in the area of mental health and build social relationships.

She posited that wellness should be seen as a culture and required a paradigm shift, something that could only come about through behavioral change.

Director of the Foundation, Mr Leroy Abraham, said “This is not a New Life Baptist Church initiative,” but should rather be seen as an “all of us initiative” while adding that many of us have been trained incorrectly over the years with respect to our diet and other areas of health.

The Foundation, it was explained was completely voluntary and a community service initiative and therefore was dependent on contributions from agencies and the wider community.

The organisation's president expressed that the community would be visible mostly through collaborations with other partners and would endeavor to assist in wellness oriented programs that were already in place.

Abraham asked that persons visit the website of the Foundation (newlifefoundationbvi.org) and fill out the forms available in an effort to partner with the organization and get connected with the vision.

Well heres another one to add to the already over 40 cults that we have active in the BVI. It runs by contributions by the public and businesses like all the other cults on the island. They talk and preach to you and ask for donations as if you dont how can they function. How can they afford to build their new houses, buy there new 4x4 vehicles, pay for their foreign vacations. They prey on the vunreable and insecure and take their hard earned money form out thier pockets without ever being charged for fraud or robbery. Your asking where all these cults are? There the churches you all go to. I have never seen so many different churches, why do we need them.
Jesus told you all to pray at home you all seem to forget this valid point and throw away your money to people who live the high life while you work for minimum wage!

Matthew 18:20 says "For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.”

True, you need to read the bible and pray. The pasters of most of the churches in the BVI work for others or are self-employed. I don't know where you read in the bible that Jesus said to pray at home, but you need to revisit what the bible said about gathering. You have a choice to attend one of those "cults" as you put it or stay at home and envy those who attend. People spend money on far less worthy things in the BVI, like drugs, clubing to see naked women and much more. Go get a life.

True... Your comments are as sad as you are! You don't have a clue as to what Jesus said so don't quote him.
I wonder what "Cult" you belong to.... #strupes

the bible says I can do all things through Jesus Christ ,who gives us the victory . Little is much when GOD is in it. kudos to my family and friends for the Word of God also says the people perish without a vision. Think BIG and do what the Lord has called you to do. He will accomplish it ,no matter what . My PRAYERS ARE WITH YOU.
    LOVE ALWAYS!
