CAPOON'S BAY, Tortola, VI - Chairman of the Virgin Islands Party (VIP), Hon Andrew A. Fahie (R1) is leaving no stone unturned in hitting hard against the Dr Smith and Hon Walwyn led National Democratic Party (NDP 1) government as the race to Elections 2019 heightens.

Mr Fahie at his First District Report and Recommitment to Service Address on Saturday, January 26, 2019, called the NDP a group of parasitic bloodsuckers who destroyed the nation at the expense of the people.

Status quo

“We are up against a principality and a power that will do anything, most times things of questionable legality to maintain the status quo,” Hon Fahie told those gathered at the Capoon's Bay recreational ground.

“But their status quo has not worked for our children, who sixteen months after devastation [Hurricane 2017] don’t have their classrooms to go back to… Their status quo has not worked for many of the youth and other residents of First District and of Virgin Gorda, and many other areas, who have no job to go to Monday morning,” he said.

Mr Fahie remarked that the status quo has not worked for the many families still struggling to complete repairs on their homes, nor has it worked for the laid-off tourism industry workers.

Yet according to him, the NDP’s political campaign is to fight for that very status quo which maintains the existing state of affairs regarding social and political issues.

“But we understand why”, he remarked, “that status quo has only worked for them; a small parasitic clique that has sucked the blood of this nation at your expense.”

Get Registered – Fahie

Hon Fahie in an appeal called for the youths of the Virgin Islands present at the event or following via radio or online, to make a special effort to get registered.

“If you are not on the list, you cannot be able to inspire the change and renewal that we all need so badly.”

He said that “change won’t come unless we work hard for it. Because we must understand who and what we are up against.”

“Our fight is to overthrow this status quo. And our mantra is for change,” the VIP Chairman said.

Thank you Hon Fahie. Adjective used is right on the money “parasitic “
Indeed that is what they are and those persons supporting them are selfish and small minded. First thing out their mouths is ‘He did this for Me or My Child ‘
What about the BIG pic folks? Bought and paid for... that’s how you want to go down in history... cause going down is the direction under the No Direction Party led by You Know Who

@watcher. I agree with you 100% and more. This is how small minded some of us are. But guess what, whatever they might have help with did not come from their own pockets, it’s our own tax money they gave back to us to help us. So technically they have done nothing for us. I pray to God that the people of this territory wake up and see what is happening to us. They come around with white envelopes giving out $500, but when you give them your vote in exchange for $500 and you vote them in, asked your self if the will conting to give you $500 for the next four years. People wake up, wake up, wake up. Oh my God.

I am a registered voter in district 3 and I have been a VIP supporter and voter for hon. Fraser ever since I could vote. However, this election I will not be voting for hon. Fraser as I support the party and not the individual. Sorry Fraser but you formed your own Party and did not tell us you were no longer with the VIP. To the voters in district 1, since the passing of hon. Lavity Stoutt that was the first and last Chief Minister that the district had and you now have a chance to vote hon. Andrew Fahie and all the territorial candidates so he can be the next Premier of the bvi. I drove the district over the weekend and I don't know how the ndp government would want the people district 1 to give them another chance when they did nothing in the district. O immigration office. NO customs office. NO police station. NO fire station. The roads is bad. YOUR culture is dying. Myrum and Ronie wasted our tax payer money and now singing another song. Action speaks louder that words. VOTE THEM OUT. VOTE OUT both NDP1 and NDP2. You have a chance to now be at the forefront by electing the whole VIP Team. VOTE FOR CHANGE. Last election the NDP1 and NDP2 made lots of empty promises. TAKE off the blinders and look around you. They had 8 years and all they did was wasted money on plane and over spend on the pier. VOTE THEM OUT.

I keep asking myself the same thing when andrew was the government what development happen in the first district. He never modernise the ferry terminal, never modernise the schools, the fire station, the police station, fix roads cone on. The reason andrew get in is just giving his people a certain set financial help which is not a bad thing. But ask yourselves what have he develop in dustrict one when he was at the helm
