“NDP Must Go!” t-shirts vex Minister Walywn
The controversial Minister for Education and Culture Honourable Myron V. Walwyn told the House of Assembly (HoA) at its sitting while debating the Social Security Amendment Bill 2013 that he was shocked and in horror over seeing some mentally ill people walking around with t-shirts marked “NDP Must Go”.
The Minister who has become known for his controversial and divisive statements in the HoA claims that he is still “sick to his stomach” over what he saw.
Minister Walwyn also told the HoA a few months ago that persons using their democratic rights to blog/make comments after an online story makes him “vex”.
The rookie politician who normally uses his privilege in the HoA not to address the many concerns and the weighty issues of the Territory and ordinary citizens, but to attack residents also threatened to name the people who he claims are associated with giving the t-shirts to the mentally ill.
Up to post time this news site could not reach the ‘upset and sick to his stomach’ Minister to see if he will reveal the names to this news site.
Is Myron Walwyn a political hypocrite?
Many residents have also blasted the Education and Culture Minister as nothing but a hypocrite and have dismissed his latest pronouncement and have flooded our newsroom with calls to say that Mr. Walwyn has no credibility on this issue.
They pointed to the fact that in the 2011 General Elections the same residents that he is today describing as ‘mentally ill’ were also wearing vote ‘NDP t-shirts’ however, Hon. Walwyn never had an issue then.
Janet C. Williams of the western side of Tortola was the first to call. She told this news site in a telephone interview that “come on now… can anyone take Myron seriously, where was he during the last election when the same people were wearing ‘Vote NDP shits’?... I took my own two eyes and saw Yellow, Eggie and this other guy from East End wearing Vote NDP shirts, but he never said a word..he is just a political hypocrite and more of an opportunist….”
Another resident whose name could not be used because he is a senior civil servant told our newsroom that a few weeks ago the Government conducted a raid removing many of the homeless and same mentally ill people who sleep in Road Town in an unoccupied building adjacent to LIME Office, but the same Minister never said a word. “Was that right and moral? Was he concerned then about if they had eaten or took their medication?” the officer asked.
“How come he did not offer them food, or clothes or even a non political t-shirt? how can we ever trust him or his sincerity on these issues? It’s just the same old political garbage we have gotten from Mr. Walwyn for the last two years that we are used too,” the public officer of 27 years told our news site.
A reporter of this news site also spotted many residents with no mental challenges wearing the t-shirts saying’ NDP Must Go’. The t-shirts were also widely circulated on Facebook and other social networks.
The origin of the ‘NDP Must Go’ t-shirts was still unknown up to press time.

all of you all who wrightin p..s seems to me that allyow dont see the minister on the turfs sitting with the boys.I MUST WARN YOU ITS WHAT YOU ASK FOR ITS WAR YOU GO GET just remember the story of the ISRALITES GOD''S chosen people who had the ETERNAL TRIUNE ALMIGHTY GOD leading them and never appreciated HIM and ask for a king someone who could not lead himself and they end up in the wilderness.
My question is: When NDP give away revenue that is suppose to go into our Treasury, where will the money come from for Scholarships, our schools, to repair/rebuild our road, to outfit the hospital, to clean up 7th and 8th Districts, and...and ..and ?. I guess we know who the NDP is counting on to pay.
But he needs to know by now he is no Peoples Man because of two reasons, 1. He is not sincere and 2. His approval rating and likeability in way below Hodge in other words no one like him!.
So he better stop while he is ahead.
He making the house of assembly a big joke…another example of the circus that Ms. Parsons spoke about.
