ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – Some might say that the Virgin Islands Party (VIP) is a sinking ship but “we will rise” said youth representative of the party Rajah A. Smith.

Smith, speaking on the VIP radio show on Wednesday December 10, 2014, said that the National Democratic Party (NDP) Government has lost its way and this he knows from experience and said without a strong captain the ship cannot sail.

The radio show ‘Let’s Talk’, the last one for the year 2014, was aired on ZBVI 780 AM and had on its panel party Chairman Hon Julian Fraser RA (R3) and President Carvin Malone along with Smith.

“Honestly speaking the Government has lost its way on who they are representing and why they are representing them,” Smith said. “And I don’t just talk because I could talk. I could talk from experience,” he said, adding that he was trying to bring an issue to the attention of a certain Government Minster who was giving him the royal runaround.

“I am here representing the young people and people might ask what young people I’m talking about. But over the past year and a half we have been meeting and pulling a group together with a set of young people from throughout the Virgin Islands,” Smith said.

“And we have built a national youth group and we have met with several business leaders, past and present politicians even some with other parties, because at the end of the day we all have one thing in common, a better BVI,” he said. “We may disagree on how we get there but the one thing that we have in common is that we want a better BVI,” said Smith.

All VIP does on their radio show is try to pull down the Virgin Islands government. When will the Virgin Islands Party come more positive; that old fashion way of politics might not work come 2015

@Wise up, you need to read more and listen more carefully before you run your mouth about the VIP needing to be more positive.

Have you heard or seen the VIP Chairman's National Address? You need to do yourself a favor and follow the party and not follow your party's lines blindly

Political party are not about an individual. They live on long after the present and past leaders. Lavity did well and he will not be the last to do so but don't be so quick to put him in political heaven. Leave him dead.
