NANNY CAY, Tortola, VI – Information coming into Virgin Islands News Online (VINO) is that a Nanny Cay woman was delivered what police suspect to be cannabis through the mail.

Sources tell VINO that the woman received the Christmas package from FedEx on December 25, 2020, however, she became suspicious given she did not order anything.

The woman then reportedly inspected the package, however, she discovered that her name was spelt incorrectly which sparked even more suspicion.

Vegetable substance found in package

Sources further told VINO that upon opening the package, the woman found some carefully packaged vegetable like substance suspected to be cannabis, which prompted a call to police.

Police have since retrieved the suspected cannabis which weighed 28kg, along with a fictitious telephone number from the package as investigations continue.

VINO will bring more information as it becomes available.

The person who sent the previous package that was in the news could have sent this package to the Nanny Cay resident to throw police off and make it seem like the previous package was also a bogus package.

Then God said, “Behold, I have given you every plant yielding seed that is on the surface of all the earth, and every tree which has fruit yielding seed; it shall be food for you. . .” (Gen 1:29)

God gives Adam and Eve seed-yielding plants and fruit trees for food.

The herbs are for eating, not smoking.

Consider this also: the eternal principle behind the biblical command not to be drunk (Eph 5:18) is that we are not to become intoxicated with anything that would deprive us of self-control and the ability to be filled with (controlled by) the Spirit. Getting high is wrong for the same reason getting drunk is wrong.

Additionally, consider this: smoking anything harms your lungs. We are commanded to be good stewards of all that God has put in our hands (Gen. 1:28), which includes our bodies. And we are furthermore instructed to glorify God in our body, which is not our own: “Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own?

For you have been bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body.” (1 Cor 6:19-20) 1 Cor 10:31 says, “Whether, then, you eat or drink or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God. If getting drunk is a sin, how does one get high to the glory of God?”

So no. Any kind of herb that you would smoke is not OK.

All it takes is someone that is working within the courier service to work with someone outside. It could be a courier employee or just someone who knows someone working within thay business, who will then give a heads up about their package...fictitious name/number doesn't matter. If where the Marijuana is sent from is legal, then it would not be a problem for them to send it out. It only becomes a problem if the country that is receiving it deems it illegal.
