CANE GARDEN BAY, Tortola, VI- The son of owners of Myett’s in Cane Garden Bay, Dakary Rhymer, has reportedly drowned at Cane Garden Bay.

According to reports reaching Virgin Islands News Online, the body of Rhymer, 26, was found floating at the popular beach sometime after 9: 00 A.M. today, July 21, 2016.

The son of Kareem and Valerie Rhymer, Dakary recently returned from the United States of America, according to sources close to the family.

Unconfirmed reports are that the young man went for a late night swim and was not seen until after his body was discovered in an area near to Quito’s in Cane Garden Bay.

The body has been taken to the morgue at Peebles Hospital.

The management and staff of Virgin Islands News Online extend sincere condolences to the family of Dakary Rhymer.

    OMG!!! The guy was at my work place two days ago distributing flyers for Myetts on the pier park. He was so calm, said i should drop by. Bless you young soul and may your family find comfort during this obviously difficult time.

    People it is simple physic and science you cant chill have a few drinks and not be in top physical muscular form then decide to take a drunken swim. Will not work body will tire quicker muscles too.

      So you a pathologist or something? STFU Condolence to Kareem and Valerie a lot of successful SELFISH people live Tortola but when I tell you THESE PEOPLE ARE GREAT GIVING KIND PEOPLE know that it is real. Why bad things happen to great people still puzzles me to this day.

    Didn't know the young man but tears came to my eyes reading this story. His dad is one of the most genuine people I know. My condolences to the entire family may you find comfort in the Lord.

    Kareem & Valerie,what a difficult time for a parent. Losing a child n questioning how and why.The fondest memories I have of the family at Myetts is witnessing the love n laughter ,the personal friendly attention and the welcoming of my family into their's.
    I'm sure Dakary had adopted the same love of people and life that we had so often witnessed during our stay.

    I knew Dakar personally since I was 12 years old. When I found out last year this happened I was completely devastated. Great friend, funny, big heart,talented,and a great person. I think about him all the time. God bless his family and we truly miss him.
