ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – It’s a well-kept secret because no one uttered a word for the past few weeks as to who are the five young women competing for the prestigious title of Miss BVI 2012, however, their faces will be revealed this evening, June 23, 2012.

The unveiling of the contestants will be done at Long Bay Beach Resort poolside during the Soiree BVI Spring Fashion and cocktail extravaganza.

Coordinator of the event Alesia Hamm in an interview with this news agency had disclosed that the girls were “prepping” for the pageant, which will be held under the theme “Bringing Back Our Cultural Past, Let’s Celebrate BVI Festival With Class”.

“It’s going to be a wonderful show and we will be sticking to our culture...patrons will be treated to an evening of BVI culture,” the pageant coordinator added. “The girls are intelligent and patrons will leave satisfied.”

The young ladies will be competing in categories: Introduction; Talent; Swimwear; Costume; Evening Wear and Question and Answer. Prior to the pageant, which is slated for early August, the contestants will be interviewed by a panel of judges.

This year, the queen will walk away with a car and a four year scholarship among other prizes.

Abigail Hyndman is the reigning queen, and is the 1st runner-up in the Miss Caribbean World.

The judges scores for Miss BVI Contest, should be made public. If I was those young ladies, I would not run until that start to happen. Everyone can see the score of Miss Universe, Miss World and Miss America so why this little show the judges' scores is a top secret.

I, for sure will miss Abby. I enjoyed her reign and I do believe that she did represent our country well. Good luck in your medical studies, Abby. Come back home and put your professional services to the betterment of us all. We need all of our learned medical professionals, at home- sooner rather than later!

The question is, after being Miss BVI 2011, where will her home be? I doubt the BVI.

Abigail is one of our most articulate Queens. She continues to represent us well. Right now, Abigail is going though the same shit that every Miss BVI has gone through close to the end of her reign. The people who are suppose to be looking out for you, drop you and ignore you and just don't give a damn. If Abigail does not go to Miss Carival, Miss JCs or Miss Universe, I would not be surprised. Why, the people who should care and who should be assisting Miss BVI just don't give a damn. They are selfish and behave like they can't be bothered if Miss BVI does anything for a year. They don't do shit for her but they are the first ones to complain if she misses an appearance or a phone call. If every Miss BVI for the last 7 years had a press conference they would tell the same sad story. Abigail, sweetheart, make the best of your time remaining, then blast dem ass.
