Movine F. Fahie allegedly forced to live in farm hut

- Matter of common assault prolongs in Magistrate’s Court

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – Imagine having a nice king-sized bed and unable to sleep on it, a comfortable house with all its amenities but unable to use them as you wish. This is allegedly the state of affairs of one of the territory’s most prominent farmers, Ms Moviene F. Fahie.

This picture was painted by Attorney at Law Mrs Valerie Stephens-Gordon as she stood in representation of Ms Fahie. The local farmer is before the court on a joint charge of common assault with one Bianca Shulterbrandt who continues to skip proceedings.

Last Friday September 16, 2016 Senior Magistrate Tamia N. Richards disclosed in court that Shulterbrandt’s employer submitted a letter to the court stating that there was some sort of audit in process at her place of employment and she was needed to be present and as such could not make it to court. That, however, was not the first time the woman failed to show up on her court date.

More often than not persons having matter/s before any court of law are required to give priority to attending court unless in the case of sickness or other very serious reasons.

The prosecution was not satisfied with the written excuse and requested of the court to issue a bench warrant for Shulterbrandt.

Forced to live in hut

It was at that stage Mrs Stephens-Gordon requested to say something on behalf of her client and disclosed that Ms Fahie is forced to endure discomfort at this time. She alluded to the fact that Ms Fahie has a comfortable home and bed but is unable to enjoy them as her neighbours continue to make her uncomfortable by stoning her home, dumping garbage and left over food into her yard, making unbearable noise late at nights and the list goes on.

Because of this, Mrs Stephens-Gordon stated, Ms Fahie has had to resort to sleeping/living in a hut on her farm at Paraquita Bay.

According to the lawyer, several times her client would call the police to insist that she be given some peace but the police allegedly fail to show up.

Magistrate Richards said as it relates to Ms Shulterbrandt, “I hope they (police) pick her up and give her a ride here.”

Tell me about it. I have a few miserable ones living around me, but I just try my best to avoid them. They play their music and tv up to the loudest and they act like the own the place. Then there's some really nasty Jamdown ones that just like to throw their garbage in the yard, but always looking man....NASTY!!

Omg! It have some from the "spice island" and the woman is a real ugly hog and miserable to the bone and when you complain about them, they vex LOL. If other people around you are paying the same rent as you...then stop being a hog and respect other people's peacefulness when they're home. Nobody wants to deal with noise and drama when they're home. Please respect our beautiful island and yes, i said our because we're all enjoying the benefits of living here. If you can't respect that, then go back to your hog house.

They accept letter from an employer saying the accused had more important things to do than show up in court, but when they esteemed one sent a letter from his doctor, they look to lock him up. Talk bout fairness in this place.

I am so sorry to say this but, there was no way on the face of this earth I would allow trash to force me out of my comfortable home to sleep in a hut. This would have been tribal war on my part. If the other party is not showing up to court, the court need to issue a arrest warrant for contempt of court. Put the person in jail for a couple of days. If I can't sleep in peace in my house, they would not be sleeping in peace in their house.

I'm telling you it can happen. I had one as a neighbor and I moved. I did not move because I was afraid of her, I move to save her A;; from some serious injuries I was about to inflict on her. If I did not move, I would have been sitting in jail for skinning another woman alive.

        @ Bvi me from

People that went to Santo Domingo to work back in those days were not there thieving and and being trouble makers!

Our ancestors went there and work hard, respected the laws of the land and then came back to Tortola to their families!

        So get your story right!

You mean BVISLANDERS came home or died in DR where Dominicanos read their names on grave markers and stole those surnames for themselves and used them to come here claiming blood ties that they do not in fact possess.

Nonsense Mrs fahie is facing serious charges and her accuser not showing up to court again after months apart. The girl is not even a senior officer at the company a clerk. No wonder these trust companies continue to do what they want and we continue to be label on the Black list by every country.

No respect for Law and order because Law and order dont have any for itself. I have seen the courts reject doctor papers but cant reject a paper saying that a junior officer is needed for an audit. Money more important than life BVI going down fast.

Man, I would shine a spotlight in every window of her house as darkness fall, blast rock music from the most powerful speaker system money could buy and toss human body waste all over her yard and get a fog horn and disturb her sleep. If I can't be in my house in peace she won't either. Man, it will be war on war.
