ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI - In a stern manner, Minister for Health and Social Development Honourable Ronnie W. Skelton (AL) charged Chairman of the Board of Directors of BVI Health Services Authority (BVIHSA) Bishop John I. Cline to move out non-performers in the health system.

The BVIHSA continues to be blasted by persons complaining of unprofessional staff. These allegations are leveled from administration down to the floor staff and, based on the tone of Minister Skelton; he is fed-up of the complaints and under performers in the system.

On Friday December 9, 2016 at the commissioning ceremony of the Peebles Hospital’s Imaging Unit, Hon Skelton told Bishop Cline in no uncertain terms, “I have charged the chairman who is not doing their work; he has my blessing, to transfer them – move them out. He is aware of what we expect of this facility.”

According to the Minister, the health of the people who reside in these Virgin Islands cannot be left to people don’t care about giving healthcare. “So, we need to have that corrected,” he added.

North Sound Health Centre up & running

While working on getting its employees in order, Hon Skelton told reporters that his ministry is also doing what they must to make the health care institutions across the territory equipped for service.

North Sound Health Centre is now back in full swing, according to Minister Skelton. It was just a few weeks ago that residents of the sister island blasted the BVIHSA, yet another time, for not having an operational health centre at North Sound. That most recent cry came after the sudden death of a resident in the area.

Both the CEO and Minister said that situation has been corrected with a fulltime nurse and a visiting/on-call doctor.

Mr. Skelton, I so agree with you. This is a business, not a place where staff from top to bottom can continue to behave in this manner. Anyone going to Peebles for care should be treated with respect by staff members. Be it a bum or a millionaire, every person deserve to be treated in the same manner. I do agree that many staff members is just there for a paycheck. You go there for help and most of them treat you and talk to you like you are less than a person. Yes, it is time to do some house cleaning at Peebles.

To the person who is calling down the blogger Yes, that person have a right to his/her comment. The way it look is you are one of those disgruntled non- proformers who got caught sitting down on the job. Before you call people names and throw out words. Take a long look in a floor length mirror and check yourself.

Bad and can't manage managers. Who like and encourage staff bringing news to them and other staff. So those News carrying and trouble making staff are
liked and can sit around all day. Giving a free pass.. Why those honourable workers are oppressed and pressure to do twice as much to cover for their liked and lazy staff.... Too much bad and can't manage managers.. But it's a pattern they too carry news and lies to their boss and they too get a free pass..

What I don't understand. Govt workers start work 830. Most trust company start work at 8. A few start at 9am. How come all around 930 The traffic tight. Block-up. Seems like a lot of workers going work late every day.. That's a real concern. People not earning their pay.
