SEA COWS BAY, Tortola, VI - A motorcyclist in the Sea Cows Bay area had to be rushed to the Dr D. Orlando Smith Hospital, following a collision with a Nissan Altima yesterday, Friday, May 1, 2020, shortly after 10:00hrs.

According to our sources, the two motorists were going in opposite directions on a hill in the community when the collision occurred resulting in the motorcyclist skidding under the vehicle and being hit unconscious.

The victim was identified as Steven Chinnery and sources say the Nissan Altima was driven by a female.

According to reports, shortly after EMT arrived on the scene, Chinnery regained consciousness but was still disoriented and had to be rushed to the hospital with other injuries about his body including to his mouth and hands.

It is still unclear the cause of the accident as the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) is said to be investigating.

Second accident recorded

Meanwhile, reports coming into Virgin Islands News Online (VINO) is that there was another accident which occurred in the vicinity of Treasure Isles sometime shortly before 10:00hrs.

While details are sketchy, our news centre understands that one person, a woman, was taken to the B & F Medical Centre having complained of severe pains in the neck and regions of the back.

The woman was in a taxi bus which was reportedly parked when it was hit by another vehicle which also damaged other nearby vehicles.

VINO will bring more information once it becomes available.

I know what it is thank you. Doesn't mean that others would. As it's not a common use in the islands people say Am and PM just to ensure clarity. Stop trying to be a educated snob. Everyone doesnt think the same. It was stated so for controversy as they would normally day Am or PM or even morning or evening. I understand its journalism but for comments purposes be clear.

You really sound like a snob. You missed the point home was making in your snobbish mood. You’re not smarter than anyone, you just think so.
