“Most ludicrous thing ever heard” – Hon Fahie on copying NDP manifesto

-Says VIP manifesto 2019 has almost 50 more pages
Chairman of the Virgin Islands Party (VIP) Hon Andrew A. Fahie (R1) says it is absolutely ridiculous the accusations that his party took ideas from the manifesto of the Hon Myron V. Walwyn (AL) led National Democratic Party (NDP 1) to draft theirs ahead of the February 25, 2019, polls in the Virgin Islands (VI). Photo: Facebook
According to the VIP Chairman, it was a mistake that the word draft was on the VIP manifesto following the first release, however, it was the final document. Photo: VINO/File

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – Chairman of the Virgin Islands Party (VIP) Hon Andrew A.

Hon Fahie was at the time responding to questions from radio hosts Julio S. Henry and Kaream K. Pickering aka "Picko" during an episode of “Hard Talk” on Tola Radio VI, on Thursday, February 21, 2019.

Ludicrous

“It’s the most ludicrous thing I’ve ever heard in my entire life, and I couldn’t believe it made a podium actually as a discussion item… because if you copy something from someone… then you would expect, that you probably have 10 more pages than them, the same amount or 10 less,” he told the hosts and the listening audience.

Hon Fahie continued, “But we have almost 50 more pages in our manifesto, we had 96 pages in our manifesto so the question is… what would we need to copy over there? We had more to offer than what was given in the total document, the only thing that they have been thriving on, that it was a draft.”

Release wasn’t a draft – Fahie

The VIP Chairman says it was a mistake that the word draft was on the VIP manifesto following the first release, however, it was the final document.

“We already visited many groups and had a lot of discussions, our manifesto was ready for release from three and a half weeks ago, they only thing that we wanted to do is to put in one or two areas and it had nothing to do with what’s in their manifesto,” he uttered.

According to Hon Fahie, “With all the issues out there… saying that it is a copy, at the end of the day while it’s some fun and games to have on a podium for some people, I don’t really see the big issue in it.”

Note to all parties. Since everyone knows what is needed for the country itis more than likely that they will think of the same things to put in their own manifestos without copying. There are more important things to argue about, rather than "mine is bigger than yours".

PVIM’s candidate for the 1st has asked for an account of the monies received by the 20 year district rep of the 1st. Can we have a response. Not a Myron fan but VINO only seems to post things when it comes to Myron. Fair and accurate journalism please....

I thought you could not have party colors at the polling stations so why are they using pen colors in the voting booth that reflect the colors of one of the political parties?
