ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- Residents and staff of the Adina Donovan Home for the Elderly on Main Street, Tortola, can once again enjoy the entertainment of a television after being without one for some time.

The television for the Home had stopped working but thanks to social commentator and taxi operator Mr Julio S. Henry aka ‘Sam, that issue has been resolved with a kind donation of a 50” television.

The presentation to the Home was made on Wednesday June 19, 2019.

According to Mr Henry, a short while back "I came here and I ran my mouth about them needing a television and someone challenged me to get one. So I went out and tried to do my best and, along with Roadtown Wholesale [Trading Ltd], I was able to purchase this 50 inch TV."

The staff of the Home was especially happy for the private sector donation since they claimed that as a government entity they seldom get donations from the corporate community. "Not many businesses, many persons, really take the time to do these types of community service. Yes we are a government agency and the government provides for us but at the same time any gesture or goodwill from the community would be welcomed,” one of the staff members of the Adina Donovan Home stated.

Mr Henry, the host of 'Hard Talk', which airs on Tola Radio VI every Thursdays, made the presentation on behalf of his family and business and also offered his taxi service to the Home during his “down time” and when they are in need.

He told reporters, “This is not a public relations stunt."

Every human being is in this life for a purpose.

I believe that if you make a good gesture to an institution,it should be published and the news site should allow the bloggers tp exercise their freedoms of expression to blog.

Whenever good citizens fall short of their expectations in the country we call them bad names etc..

The man made a donation and wants the world to know.

I will not focus on the fame of the man but I will prefer to say to him, thank you for the donation.

He is already a man in the spotlight.

Let him be in the spotlight for a good did..

    One love bvi..

I agree with your post, but you can't do it this way and then say it's not for publicity. If it wasn't, then there would have been no photo on VINO.
