WICKHAM'S CAY II, Tortola, VI - This news site has been reliably informed by its Team of Reporters that The Moorings' General Manager, Mr Clarence Malone, has been relieved of the position.

According to Virgin Islands News Online’s sources there, the axed Malone has been at “wits end” with the senior management of the company, which has made a decision to 'shake up' some key high profile positions, one of which is Mr Malone's.

Virgin Islands News Online is also informed that others are likely to be given marching orders and, as we understand it, work permits are near complete for replacements.

Several workers in the company, who also spoke with this news site, have welcomed the decision to shake up key management positions.

One commented, "Yes let them bring the Whites to be our boss, we can take them, we don't care. Our own had the opportunity but they mess up, get too big, the white people will do better in this industry."

Mr Malone was not reached for a comment up to the time of publication.

Why is everything white and black to this day? It's either people can do the job or they can't. White or black, some people get comfortable in positions and negatively impact establishments. When it's time to go, it's time to go, doesn't matter if they're local or not.

Wait, so they waited 39 years to realize he can't do the job? What do his annual appraisal reports say? More in the morta than the pestle!

To the person that called this newsite SHAME ON YOU! Instead of fighting for what is right and giving the BVILANDERS chance ,u choosed to cause more harm than good.

Nevertheless.... this site needs to take a visit in MOORINGS and talk with the STAFF'S. WE will expose all of MOORINGS dirty secret...

I agree with worker. This man is very deserving of his position. They have no reason to terminate his services. This needs exposure to the public and social media. Government refuse to address the situation then it needs to be dealt with in other ways. This is not the way you treat people!
And for the ones that are doing your dirty work and carrying news to keep your position.... you turn will reach.

i dont know the situation, but have you not heard of The Peter Principle? This states that in any organisation the members are promoted until they reach the level of their own incompetence. Perhaps he was good at lower levels of management but not up to the top job? President Trump looks like fitting this pattern.

This doesn't apply in this case. He has been the regional manager for the company for over 15 years. Not only manager for the BVI branch, but also the ones in other islands. He has done an excellent job as of today. If the company decided to replace him, it is for other reasons than incompetence. Maybe they have other goals and owners, as the company changes ownership very often. I don't feel bad for him, because the will have to come up with a gruesome amount of cash for severance pay. The impact will be on the workers. He is a very fair leader and treats everyone with respect.

You honestly think he was sacked because of his great service. Sometimes our own people are too confident and don't think they are replacement and want to talk to their bosses how they feel like. Disrespect is disrespect.... and if him and owners have been butting heads for somtime - changes had to be mad. Business is business and we as people need to stop taking it personal.

We the staff of the Moorings have supported the Director always. The reason they want to fire him is beacuse he send an email they deem to be disrespectful to one of his subordinates letting them know that that the undermining have got to stop. This man worked tirelessly for this company and because he stands up for his people and his staff hthey want to terminate him. The government did nothing about this situation, they did not look out for their people as they does say, they all have their own interests at stakes, so to hell with the locals working here. They will approve all the work permits for the whites to come and take our jobs. The HRM position is available and I am pretty sure is white filling that . But God never sleep and he sees and knows everything.

The last comment is a sad reality of life. Divide and conquer. Once again we see where "we" turn against our own race and love another. Yes we should love each other no matter what race but do you think "they" would turn against their own race for you? NEVER!!!!!! It has been proven time and time again that "we" are divide as a people and that's why we will always be considered second and third class to them". This is an island that always boast about country pride but yet look how easy it was for you to go against your own. Ok so Malone has to leave why not get another one of your people to fill the position? No. Instead you want then bring in the "white" to control you. Slave mentality. Love Masa and hate your brother/sister. Sad reality. Find out what the real story is before you make comments. Go to the source- THE STAFF- get the truth and it may not be pretty.

Why we don't see this level of discourse when big local companies mistreat employees, deduct benefits like NHI, SS and other things from their salaries and don't remit to the relevant agencies, treat them like crap, don't pay them for months etc.? Only when a big company with whites involved does something, all of a sudden we pretend to care about our brothers and sisters. We should support them even when our own are at fault, wrong is wrong no matter who is involved.

What we fail to realize is that, people keep saying that we are not qualified but yet them won't take a chance on those who are qualified . In order for someone to get experience we have to be able to give them a chance to do the job. You see when things fall apart and people don't know the whole truth people speculate but those in the fire sees it first hand. You mean to tell me for 39 years this man is working for this company and without even a reprimand on his record you want to get rid of him. Back to slavery again. The locals would never see a top position in this company again.. Those of you who are rejoicing remember every pig have it Saturday.. Time longer than twine.

White this, white that. The most ironic thing on this thread is a comment saying something like, "We don't entertain race hate here." The saddest thing about this thread is that it shows just how pathetic people are when they grow up with a feeling of entitlement, only to come to the eventual realisation that life doesn't work like that, and then start blaming another race to paper over the fact that your education system failed you, your community failed you, your culture failed you, that your own damn people failed you. Instead of attacking white people, go back to school for night classes and boost your credentials. You want the top jobs you bloody well put the work in. The head work: the reading and the writing and the learning. Top jobs don't fall on your lap. And they are not a birth right. You EARN them.
