Models show high interest for Summer Sizzle 2014 runway
The casting saw the attendance of approximately fifteen men and women and was held at the Paragon, Skelton Lot, Fish Bay yesterday July 14, 2014. Promoter of the annual Summer Sizzle BVI Mr Terry T. Donovan was more than pleased that interested persons took on the challenge especially as some have intentions of pursuing a career in fashion modeling.
He was overly impressed by the presence of a number of new faces as much as there were familiar ones. “The thing is as a year goes by persons’ bodies do change and for that reason it is required that we see all the potential models before a decision is made,” said Donovan.
“We saw some great girls and guys today so we are going to being looking through the photos and select the ones we think have the fit and the right look for the show. We definitely look for people that can walk, that have the grace and the poise and body proportion,” he said.
One thing was made clear to the models yesterday is the fact that it is the final decision of the designers to select. “As you would have heard me saying to the models – I may select you but if you do not fit the designers’ clothes they wouldn’t select you - so fit is a major part of it,” explained Mr Donovan.
He stated that Summer Sizzle is an international runway show for which the standards are very high for selection. In addition like years gone by a number of top of the line models will be on the island to participate in the show.
Those to be selected to grace the Summer Sizzle run-way this year will make their first appearance as part of the Summer Sizzle team on Friday July 18, 2014 at Bamboushay for the Summer Sizzle BVI 2014 official launch party.
Following that will be the July 24, 2014 Welcome Culture and Style party, “Taste of BVI” at Maria’s by the Sea. “That’s going to give people a full taste of BVI Festival’s 60th Anniversary; we’ve got troupes and a so much more that everyone should grad their tickets to have that experience. It’s going to be a full mini festival and also welcoming persons to the shores of the BVI.”
