Miss BVI World hopefuls go public
Last night was the ground breaking moment for the upcoming pageant as the ‘revealing’ was done before a mammoth and exciting crowd at the Caribbean Insurers Ltd and UMI Fashion’s ‘A walk to remember Fashion Show’.
The event also featured the grand raffle drawing for the Mercedez Benz ML300, a fundraising event for the British Virgin Islands HIV/AIDS Foundation.
The Miss BVI World Committee recently announced the staging of the Miss BVI World pageant, a move that has finally come to fruition as the committee has carefully taken the recommendations of many and responded to the public’s demands.
Four intelligent, equally beautiful, and smart young women have been selected to vie for the opportunity to represent the territory on the international stage of Miss World set for December 19, 2015 in Sanya, China.
According to franchise holder and coordinator of the pageant Mr Damion C. Grange, after twelve years of not having a Miss World representative at the local or international level, under a new committee the BVI saw its first representative in that of Miss Kirtis Kassandra Malone on the international stage in Indonesia in 2013.
Subsequently, in 2014 Miss Rosanna K. Chichester was selected by the committee to represent the territory as Miss World BVI in London. Both young ladies did a stellar job and lifted the ‘BVI Flag’ and spirits during their respective years.
Mr Grange further noted that the committee comprises of 12 capable and experienced persons who are putting their all into making the pageant one of a very high standard and an evening of entertainment.
“One of our watch words as always when it comes to events of this nature is ‘Standard’. Our young women are of a very high calibre, very smart, very intelligent and they all have what it takes to be ambassadors for the BVI both locally and internationally,” noted Mr Grange.
“So come October 3rd, at the H. Lavity Stoutt Community College we will be presenting to you, four young women doing their best to take the crown and to move on to representing this territory in China in December.”
The contestants are required to participate in six categories: Beauty with a Purpose, Introductory interview, Swimwear, Talent Evening wear and the Question and Answer segment.
As is required for the international participation in the Miss World, each contestant must organise and participate in a local charity to raise funds to aid the less fortunate children. That segment here is being referred to as ‘Beauty with a purpose’.

These caricatures of Black Afro Caribbean beauty demonstrates a self hatred . Black beauty comes in errorall shades hair length and texture. The judges of Ms World won't see a Ms BVi they will see a wannabee European, ashamed of their god given attributes. And the lack of intelligence and verbal skill will be the icing on the mud cake.
