Miss BVI 1st runner up Doneisha D. Maduro-Findlay seeks to clear family's name
Contacted by this News Site Maduro-Findlay declined to respond to the question about her willingness to take the crown should the present queen be dethroned.
She said, “Any question relating to the crown should be directed to the BVIF&FC. I felt the need to publicly clear the air because my family and I are being accused of wanting to dethrone our queen. I will once again state that this is unequivocally not true! My relationship with all the Miss BVI 2014 contestants has been and still remains a cordial one.”
Ms Maduro-Findlay is the daughter of Sixth District Representative Hon Alvera Maduro-Caines. Hon Maduro-Caines in a message on her Facebook page said in part, "...Acceptance is something she (Doneisha) has mastered no matter the situation..Love you always."
Ms Maduro-Findlay said that upon learning of the public investigations and assertions in some sections of society she made a public statement via her Facebook page. She shared that statement with this news site.
The Disclaimer statement:
“It has come to my attention that speculations suggest my family and I have initiated a campaign to challenge our 2014 Miss British Virgin Island’s national status. Please allow me to state, for the record, that this has no basis in truth or substance and is therefore false. On Sunday August 1, 2014 Jaynene Jno-Lewis was selected by a panel of judges as our new queen, I have since congratulated her on winning the title and pledged my support to her as our reigning Miss British Virgin Islands 2014 – 2015, this has not changed.
Five young ladies contested and gave it their all, one came out the winner, and we all knew going in that there was the possibility that another girl may win. This considering the hard work and effort that we put in along with the shared desire to become the next ambassador of our beautiful home. I believe we can all understand the disappointment that comes with one not being successful in a set goal. However, I was and still am contented with the fact that the crown would be in good hands no matter who had won.
It is my hope that this matter can be resolved swiftly and with decency while giving due regard to all involved.
The experience and personal growth gained throughout the process has been priceless, and one I would never change. I am therefore eternally grateful to my family, friends, supporters and sponsors for their belief, support and monetary contribution that all resulted in a successful journey. I wish Jaynene Jno-Lewis, Aribella Lucia Parsons, Leah Johnney and Tecora Morgan all the best and much success in all their future endeavours. I now move on to my next chapter in life." - 2014 Miss British Virgin Islands 1st runner up.

you go girl at least you could defend your self where the queen is to make a statement and defend her self to the ppl of the Virgin Islands would like to know the truth we deserve it.
but a statement will be given when she get all her documents just waite and see send her back st Croix with she crap
Why would she question the Queen's status? it does not make sense because her daughter's father is a Vincy and her husband is a Kittian. so I don't believe she had anything to do with it.
Blame rest all over for this embarrassing mess!
Secondly you are correct, Doneishas' dad Donald Findley was born and resides in St. Vincent and Doneisha was born in St. Croix just like your queen Jaynene for those that don't know. The difference between Doneisha and your queen Jaynene is that Doneisha didn't serve in the US Military and she was smart enough to apply for her status...face it you can't beat beauty and brains.
Why some people so illerate . u don't think if someone had know before she ran she had no document it wouldn't have come out before the show, look how long they knew they were running, someone in there covered up for her or either false document was provided , as someone said she went to look about time that's why it came out I don't have a problem with her winning the show but the problem is she cannot prepresent the country overseas
Al...a Ma..ro C..nes' mother was an island woman. The Queen is from St. Croix. What is your point? You all are so pitiful.
I could tell u the class of people who does be blogging negative if u can't post positive things don't blog because i sure half of them what blogging can't even vote and better still don't have s..ts
Why everyone blaming the honorable and her daughter? Shouldn't this finger be pointed to the pageant chairperson. I am quite sure application and supporting documents must be submitted to enter for this pageant. Who processed it? If was an error let the committee come forward.
That would stop her from eating? If I was her I would not even bother to run to represent and help some of you simple minded people and I know she has help a lot.
This is an un-necessary attack on her and her daughter over a frivolous matter which will be solved by the committee not you all. You all just jealous haters and that's so sad. There are more for them than against them and I thank God for that.
How could you have a Miss. British Virgin Islands who is not from the Virgin Islands. She will need to be going to immigration to extend her time.
I cannot go to the USA and decide that I am going to run for Miss. USA. It is at the both the fault of Ms. Lewis and the committee for this travesty.
If I was Doneisha I would have come out about this before the show took place. A non belonger should not have the crown. I am sure that it is only people from the islands who believe that she should keep it. I cannot go to anyother country and run for a pageant.
The BVI needs to stop bending the rules. Dethrone and give the crown to a BVIslander; whether it's Doneisha or any other person who has rights to the BVI and shows honestly. Clearly Ms. Lewis was dishonest about her status and this should be looked into.
Nothing truthful comes out of Facebook. Alvera, Mark, Orlando and Lorna and there stooges abusing Facebook. People pretending to be holy when living a dirty life and pretending to have a world of wealth and happiness. The best image of everything post on Facebook. People cussing out each other on FB. People claiming woman and man on Facebook. It's a place to create a self image. It's a disastrous place and our leaders are participating. Public perception is not real. The one day they dress up they post it, I go to church praise lord it post, I just get a design, car, jewelry new shoes it post, you with a man or woman it post, slandering post,
Alvera help started this crap with her daughter and that's a fact unfair to the queen.
How can respect for some of these so call leaders of today. Decent people don't use Facebook to prove anything. Congrats Jno Lewis you did well!!
Her short reign is a lesson for others and most especially the youth. Honesty is what matters and you are responsible for your actions.
Please, let us put this embarrassment behind us and move forward with either another queen or erase this year's Queen competition and regroup with a revised Committee. Bvislanders, much to our dismay suffer the consequences of being too trusting and generous with those whose intent it is to use use use.
This is our greatest reason why the BVI can't get any better. Too many evil thoughts!
