SETTLEMENT, Anegada, VI - Residents of Anegada have been experiencing challenges with their power supply for months.

This, however will soon come to an end.

Newly Elected Ninth District Representative and Minister for Natural Resources, Labour and Immigration, Honourable Vincent O. Wheatley and Junior Minister for Tourism and At Large Representative, Honourable Shereen D. Flax Charles, paid a visit today, Friday March 1, 2019, to the Anegada Power Station.

They assured the people of Anegada that their power outage issues are being addressed and is a top priority.

Corrective works are also ongoing, according to the BVI Electricity Corporation.

Good Choice

Many Anegadians have praised their efforts and have pointed to the wise decision of voters for having two persons from the sister islands in the House of Assembly (HoA).

Both Ministers could not be reached as of publication time for comments.

The visit to Anegada by the newly elected ministers is a testimony of the interest they have in the people. They did not make any phone calls, rather they went to have an on the spot assessment of the problem. That is true representation. My vote for them is justified. I really appreciate the quick response of the ministers.

According to the late Omer Wallace Hodge, the voice of the people is a voice from God. Help has finally come to the people of Anegada. Whether the people voted for the VIP or not they should have the same level of representation. The next issue that I would like them to address is the water woes in the western end of Tortola.

look out for people because some of the former ministers will soon find out that those foreign investors will no longer have any usage for them because they no longer have political power to open door for them....some of the former ministers have some of our tax money in hiding but hopefully the Scotland Yard will deal with them....time longer twine
