ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI - With a Mi Amor Jewellers luxury dazzling piece, a charming smile and a regal wave, Miss World British Virgin Islands (BVI), Yadali Thomas Santos departed the Territory on November 8, 2018, for the month-long Miss World activities in Sanya, China.

She will face more than 100 contestants in the exciting Miss World Pageant  slated for December 8, 2018, and sponsor, Mi Amor Jewellers wanted to ensure that the BVI titleholder sparkled during her reign.

Mi Amor presented her with selected pieces before her departure and upgraded the Miss World BVI Crown. The company had sponsored Yadali in the 2018 Miss World BVI pageant.

Shine throughout the year

During a brief farewell presentation event on Saturday, November 3, 2018, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Mi Amor, Ms Eileen Bourke, said the company wanted Yadali to shine not only at the 68th staging of Miss World, but throughout the year.

“We wanted to present Yadali with accent jewellery that is offered in the British Virgin Islands exclusively at Mi Amor,” Ms Bourke said at the sneak peek.

The CEO explained that the presented pieces are part of the Mi Amor Luxury Collection.

Additionally, the company refurbished the Miss World crown adding more diamonds and in the process increased the value of the cherished headwear.

Prior to Yadali’s departure, the Miss World Committee also offered a sneak peek of the gown that the BVI title holder will be rocking at the Miss World ‘Top Model Challenge.’

The Kyle Gervacy brand gown was designed by St Lucia born, Canada based designer Kadeem K. Faustin and was sourced for Yadali by Andy A. Jeffers.

Packed wardrobe

She will in fact be travelling to China with two Kyle Gervacy designer gowns, as well as a stunning piece from local designer Akeem Stanley, head-turning pieces from Trefle Designs and Andrea Wilson’s, Islander Collection.

Umi Fashions also stepped up to the plate to ensure that the BVI representative stands out at the month-long Miss World Festival, and while the content of Yadali’s wardrobe was not revealed, the committee said Umi provided some glamorous pieces.

In addition to her wardrobe, Yadali left with two copies of Angela Burnett Penn’s Irma Diaries which she is hoping to use to push Climate Change awareness and bring attention to the Territory’s recovery efforts.

If she fails it’s because of people like yourself who would rather to perpetuate a divisive undertone, rather than inviting the territory to rally in support behind the young lady. Can we just put petty on permanent holiday people????? Good luck Miss Thomas, go make us proud!
