ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – The BVI HIV/AIDS Foundation in conjunction with Caribbean Insurers Ltd will on Friday September 11, 2015 raffle away a spanking new Mercedes Benz motor car for the benefit of the work of the foundation.

The event will take place at the courtyard of Caribbean Insurers Limited (CIL) office and it will take place in tandem with the launch of the contestants for the Miss BVI World pageant.

Speaking at a brief press conference today August 31, 2015, Arletta Bickerton of the BVI HIV/AIDS Foundation said there will be lots to eat and drink and there will be an opportunity for persons to socialise with staff of the foundation and learn of its work in the territory.

“This will be the best place to be on September 11, 2015,” she said, adding that some tickets are still available for purchase but that they are going fast.

Director at CIL, Simone T. Monsanto said that as an added attraction two-time Road March champs VIBE will be performing live at the event.

She said too that the winner of the car will also win a full tank of gas from M&M Gas Station. “So we are encouraging the public to come out and support this event,” said Monsanto.

Speaking at the press conference, Damion C. Grange said UMI Fashion will be partnering with Caribbean Insurers Ltd in the Fashion Fun Fair.

“This is like part two to that and we are collaborating now with the BVI HIV/AIDS Foundation for the grand drawing of the raffle. It is all going towards a worthy cause towards the Foundation and on that day as well the Miss World organisation will be revealing their contestants for 2015,” said Grange.

LOL.. this is so true, they have people buying tickets thinking they are getting a steal of a deal. Then u will see the winner back to catching ride after they get the bill from a dealership for the first service.
If u dont have BENZ money please stay away

while I commend the motive supporting the foundation, why do we need another (inappropriate) expensive car for island life? Insurance alone is extremely expensive as well as maintenance as mentioned. The bills are expensive monthly. This is playing to those wanting to live large but it isn't practical. Find another way of supporting the AIDS/ HIV Foundation- a most worthy and pressing organization and issue still around in this day and age. We need more Aids awareness and education. But challenging dreamers' financial insecurity is not fair.

shaw, a 2015 benz will not give trouble so soon. all you have to do is regular service for 150-200 a month. gas is about 80 a week. Stop making it seem so un real! They are not expensive unless you buy an older year that of course will give some trouble. You people around here need educating.

The HIV/Aids foundation is an organization that has fallen far from its founding principals.
