FREDERIKSTED, St Croix, USVI — Two men wanted on separate charges — one for allegedly raping a minor and the other for robbing a tourist at Frederiksted Hotel — turned themselves in last week, according to Glen Dratte, the [US] Virgin Islands Police Department’s (VIPD) Public Information Officer.

Elvis Edwards, — a registered sex offender — who was born in St Thomas but lives on St Croix and is known to frequent Sion Farm, Castle Coakley, Peter’s Rest and Angels Bar in the Golden Grove area, turned himself in on Wednesday August 10, 2016 at 5:15 p.m. He was wanted on rape charges.

Mr. Dratte said Mr. Edwards was remanded to the detention center at the Golden Grove Correctional Facility after failing to make bail of $75,000, pending his advise-of-rights hearing.

And Jason A. Dickerson, who goes by the moniker “Jungle”, appeared with his attorney at the VIPD’s B Command Zone at Mars Hill in Fredericksted on Wednesday to turn himself in, according to Mr. Dratte. Mr. Dickerson, a black 32-year-old, was wanted by police for first degree robbery after robbing a tourist.

After failing to make bail of $75,000, Mr. Dickerson was remanded to the detention center at the Golden Grove Correctional Facility pending his advise-of-rights hearing.
