ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- Born on the fourth day of October, twenty-one years ago, I was given the name Sonia Millington. Being the last child, I was always the princess of the bunch, sheltered, nurtured and groomed into the six foot, one inch young woman that I have become today. One who values life and all the morals I've been taught. I have been a resident at Penal Rock Road for all of my life and as such, I have developed a great love for our southern communities.

After completing primary schooling at St. Christopher's Anglican, Siparia, I successfully passed on to Holy Faith Convent, Penal. There, I was a member of the Student Council and Interact Club. I was also very active in the aspect of culture, being involved in dance for both SanFest and Best Village competitions.

For all my life I had an extreme passion for modeling and pageantry. I had always dreamt of gracing stages of the fashion industry. Starting from around age fifteen I began doing a bit of free-lance modeling simply because of my love for it.

I was asked to take part in the Miss Siparia Fete Beauty Pageant. Although I was a bit skeptical at first, I decided to challenge myself and take part, not knowing anything about pageantry. I was crowned the winner and also awarded special prizes for best gown and best physique, doing so very well in my first pageant, I was completely overjoyed. The journey was one I enjoyed every bit of. It was after this that I graduated from high school with eight O'Level passes and 5 A'Level passes. I was then accepted into the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine Campus to pursue my Spanish degree.

Wanting to keep active in the modeling industry, I decided to enter the Miss Point Fortin Borough Beauty Pageant. A long journey it was, considering that I lived so far from our rehearsal venues but I continued with pleasure. On the night of the pageant, I was dubbed the first runner up out of a total of fifteen delegates. I also walked away with the special prize for Best Physique. That night marked another proud moment of my accomplishments.

I still keep active in dance with the I.B.I.S T&T Performers. My dream for the near future is to become an interpreter and ambassador for my country.

My motto in life: hard work, perseverance and determination will lead you to achieving all your aspirations, but not without the necessary intervention from God!
