ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI - Organisers of the march from the Sunday Morning Well to the Governor’s Office in protest to the United Kingdom decision to make accounts information for the offshore sector public via registries has announced that banners and placards are ready.

Bishop John I. Cline, Chairman of the Christian Council, has spearheaded a by partisan march and has a committee to work out the details. One of the concerns of the committee is that marchers stick to the issue and hence they have made banners and placards to assist marchers.

If the aim is to march to Government house, then the March should be on Tortola. Ferry was provided to accommodate all the sister Islands participants.

Now let’s get back to the REAL issue!!!!

Let’s not make a joke of this with all the cheerleading, laughing chants, and Jouvert sounding music.

This may be seen worldwide and we must not come across looking like we are just a show-and-tell and not serious about voicing our serious concerns.

@ This Is on: Are you for real? Do you think this March is about the benefit of some people? If you think so, then you really do not understand what is happening to your country. You speak about advantage being taken of persons after the hurricane. Well let the Financial Industry go and you will see suffering for that is what is helping to keep this country going. We only have that industry and then tourism. I tell you once the trust companies pull out from here with this new law that the UK is bearing down on us, lots of jobs would be gone and only the strong will survive! So please read up on the issue at hand or let someone who knows about the situation help you in understanding the issue at hand for your own sake!

This is a mess. Half the people are marching because they think it’s against Government spending -yet the march is being sponsored by Government. Ministers saying that civil servants and school children will be there - so is that mandated?

What we need now is a proper legal challenge with due process as the U.K. have clearly over stepped the mark with regards to the constitution.

The March is going to happen and people know exactly why they are marching. We do have the legal challenge going. That's for the Government and technocrats. The people can protest and we will.

Everybody who has been capitalizing off of free money wants you to March. As soon as things get good with them again, they will forget who fought the cause. Let all those NDP conservatists fight their own battles.

You missing the point. This battle belongs to everyone who calls the BVI their home. It has nothing to do with party or politics. It is about an outside institution taking advantage of us. If people would only understand what the UK is doing to us, they would rise up. Also, take some time to understand how our financial services work. It is not like some people are portraying.

The beast knows his time of rule is over so he will destroy all he had built to sustain his rule which includes the political system. They gonna fly outta here on viirgin galactic and leave this planet in a mess before the new law and rightful order is restored by our creator. You know that judgement has taken place because of all the mental and moral degeneration that is happening amongst the weak people. The lord is allowing all of this chaos because it opens the door for law and order to be restored. The new elites of the world will be those with the strongest genetic make up and brightest of minds.

This is a really sad time to be a BVI Islander. Politicians are playing our people like puppets. This legislation has been coming for many years and it was just a matter of time, be thankful you got away with laundering money for so long...its not only the BVI who is being effected, please read up on this and educate yourselves.
Please engage the brain and lets march against the west end fire, the millions that are missing from corruption, raw sewage in streets, kids being educated under tents, crime. The list could go on and on....Orlando said what UK is doing to FS is inhumane...well well well.

All this talk of slavery and God again, is this all we got?.

We don't have the golden egg anymore and on our way to being the new Haiti.

Enjoy your march and waste of time.

If we don't have anything to hide and claim we are more compliant than alot of these other jurisdictions then we don't have anything to worry about. I do understand the need for client confidentiality but I still think that there will be some limit set forth on the extent of availability of data. Public access will be law and from my knowledge all laws set out their conditions. We first need to hear what the final law will state before we jump to conclusions. It will make us seem very ignorant. If the conditions of this law somehow unjustfully deprives us in some way or another then we contest it. In the meantime we must hear all conditions set out with this new law before we can intelligently conclude the repurcussions.

The process is unconstitutional. Where have you been? No one is accepting it!! This is not only us protesting. If If put your business on blast you won’t be happy. So why should our clients. FATF, OECD said they would not be moving to the standard as they are not sure it solves crime. This is bullying and we should not accept it. We already know what the law will say we need to show. We are not dumb. It will be a breach of fundamental rights and freedoms, especially on privacy.

It could be depending on how much information is on the cheque. The businesses can post your name on a bounce check list but I believe that you are protected under the constitution from your rights being breached in this way. Persons can challenge it in the courts if they want.
