Man wanted for murder in USVI believed to be hiding out in territory- RVIPF

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- The Police Information Office reports that the RVIPF are requesting that members of the community keep a look out for Shandos Powell, also known as “Sharky”.

Powell, 24, is wanted in the USVI for questioning in connection with a First Degree Murder on St Thomas at the Division of Motor Vehicles on Friday, November 8, 2013.

It is believed that Powell has connections in Nottingham, East End and Vanterpool Estate on Tortola and that he may have fled to the VI after the incident.

He is described as 6’0 feet tall, around 176 pounds, with short black hair, brown eyes and brown complexion. He has a tattoo on his left arm and a large scar on his lower left back.

 

MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC SHOULD NOT APPROACH POWELL AS HE IS LIKELY TO BE ARMED AND SHOULD BE REGARDED AS DANGEROUS. ANY SIGHTINGS SHOULD BE REPORTED IMMEDIATELY TO THE POLICE CONTROL ROOM ON 911 OR 999.

 

Persons with information regarding the fugitive are requested to contact the RVIPF Intelligence Unit on 468 9339, or – in complete and guaranteed anonymity – ‘Crimestoppers’ on 800 8477.

    In a Press Release by the USVIPD dated June 27, 2011:

    "And finally, on Monday, June 27 at about 4:30 a.m. 22-year-old Shandos Powell of Commandant Gade was arrested after a complaint was made to police that he assaulted his pregnant girlfriend by punching her in her stomach and her face."
