the secret is out; no more natures little secret.....let me not comment about the break down in law enforcement: some of just can not understand(there is a vast difference between "blaming" and "responsibility")....the police "responsible" for law enforcement so when things go wrong there is no need to "blame "them(bring back the stop and search on the public roads)....there will always be more criminals than police but try to control it and stop search worked in the past because the road ways are now being use freely to transport dope and guns(stop and search will help unless the police and the crooks working together) .... look at this(Some of us realize after those officers were arrested on alligations of theifing dope and stealing money all this gun play began) let's leave that issue for another episode but do you realize with all this gun play you don't see any extra police on the road.....

Wize up, you have hit the nail on the head. stop and search is a proven method of reducing crime, when Mayor Guilanni was in office the crime in New York went down drastically, now its been stopped its back up again.I drive to West End nearly everyday and very rarely see a police car, they are parked up at the police station.

The last thing that we need on the Virgin Islands is it becoming a Police State. Giving more power to the Police than the scope of their duties is like giving the Virgin Islands over to foreign control, because the majority of the Police are foreigners who probably don't have the best interest of the Virgin Islands at heart other than a paycheck.

@ billfargo: I agree with you 200% because only our people will be victimized: but this gun thing is a mess and some things needs to be done: some measure should be put in place to restrict the movement of guns from point A to Point B; I personally have no fear of submitting to any stop and search because I have no-thing to hide and those police boys who want to act the fool will be dealt with(for sure)...understand this(our own people are the ones causing most of the issues in the territory and that is shameful)...you and I should not be online with this level of conversation but some of our young brothers just doing a set of f*@$ and will certainly turn our territory into a police state because babylon must deal with crime(just saying) I am 100% old school so I absolutely have no for those foreign police boys!!!?????

@ when will this stop: I am so glad someone understands the facts of these growing gun crimes: I am very mindful most of these crimes are targeted however some of us might be in the right place at the wrong time: we have more law abiding citizen in this territory than criminals but some how the criminals have taken over(we don't make gun here yet those responsible for blocking guns from entering this territory not doing a good job)....those responsible for preventing the guns from moving from west end to east end not going a good job)

The people that are keeping quiet and not naming these morons are equally guilty. Stand and be counted or remain quiet like cowards. Those with info can make a difference through crime stoppers totally anonymous, for the lords sake just do it.

@Arnie, that is so true. I feel the same way. The people who knows about the crimes and who is committing them is as guilty as the ones committing the crimes. I know things can happen anywhere at anytime but, I pay close attention to my surroundings. I go to work, do what I have to do and stay in my home after sundown.

They don't want to assist the police or have use for the police but, when things go wrong for them, they dash in the police station like speedy Gonzales for police help and protection from the enemy.

Police officers do their best with whatever little they have. Truth is this is our country and we the people have an obgliation to ensure we report criminal activity . However the true issue lies in confidentiality. Be not fool , you guys underestimate the level of inside intelligence these criminals have in the police station. Crime is not on the rise people it has arrived. When you remove pen and book from the youths its gun and knife is what does replace it. In a gun man world there will always be that cat who is badda then you. Every Gun man time does come. Repent and leave the gun vibes alone gentlemen for it's only a matter of time before someone parent hold dem belly... if you don't wanna stop for you think about your kids parents and innocent people. If one gun man lead out the rest go follow. If this doesn't happen then rain will fall and who get wet will. Youth ayo slow down. The things on TV is just Hollywood ....

Some of the young guys doing crime live in the very same house with parents who work in enforcement: enforcement involved in the dope and gun trade and offer protection to affiliates....as soon as those 3 guys were removed from enforcement the shootings began(do your home work)

You're working overtime to make a connection where there is none. They have been off work for over 2 years. You should go to the COP with your explanation for this rise in crime just now. I cannot believe you were a Police. You seem so bitter though. Do you really think it is or was about those 3 guys? Or that the problem is solved for that matter because they were removed? How come you never mention those who were giving the criminals information like the one from East End....or did you forget the one in West End who was accused of stealing from the children but was sent back to work. My point is do not blame the 3 police for no crime. Every where has good and bad apples. Even in your own house. The criminals are responsible for crime and their relatives and friends who hide what they do.
