Man shot dead on St Croix, USVI
FREDERIKSTED, St Croix, USVI— The victim of a shooting Friday night, August 26, 2015 on Hill Street in Christiansted has been revealed as Sean Javois, [US] Virgin Islands Police Department (VIPD) Public Information Officer Glen Dratte confirmed via press release on Saturday August 27, 2016.
According to police sources, Mr Javois, cousin of slain police officer Kai Javois — the homicides don’t appear to be related — was engaged in an argument with another man, which escalated and led to Mr Javois’ death. Mr Dratte said the 911 emergency call center received notification of the incident at about 8:24 P.M. that night. Officers then arrived on the scene and observed the body of the victim on the ground. Mr Javois had sustained several gunshot wounds to his back, chest and neck, according to Mr Dratte, and appeared to have no vital signs of life.
Mr Javois, 32, was transported by a morgue attendant to the Juan F. Luis Hospital where he was pronounced dead by a doctor.
