ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI– Police are investigating a home invasion yesterday afternoon, March 17, 2016 at a residence in the Great Mountain Road.

The victim reported that he was at home around 2:15pm when a lone masked male bearing a firearm entered his residence through the kitchen door, pointed a gun at him and demanded money. He pulled out the change which was in his pocket and put it on the table.  The assailant pointed to the other rooms in the house and was told by the homeowner that there was no more money in the house. He picked up the money, slipped out through the kitchen door and fled on foot into the nearby bushes.

The assailant is described as a black, slim built weighing about 170 pounds. He was dressed in a long black pants, black-short sleeve t-shirt and a black t-shirt covering his entire face with just his eyes out.

A bar owner reported over a week earlier, Monday evening, March 7, 2016 that two young masked males entered his business place in Carrot Bay and demanded cash from he, his wife and a couple that was at the bar at the time. The two walked away with the small amount of cash in the pockets of the men.

No injuries were reported in either case.

Police are asking the public for assistance with information that can help to identify the assailants in each of these robberies. Persons are asked to call Police through its three-digit access number 311 or contact detectives within the Major Crime Team directly at 368-5682. Persons can also give that information to the Intelligence Unit at 368-9339 or report the information anonymously to Crimestoppers through its Miami-based hotline number 800-TIPS (8477).

no police patrolling the villages; criminals slowly taking over the territory: back when the territory had fewer police the community has far less crime NOW the territory have far more police including those specialist from the UK and crime is steadily increasing.... NOW: Duncan is responsible for the security of the territory and he does nothing. simply because most crimes are black on black incidents?... the day the white settlers became victims of crime in this territory will we see how active H:E the Governor will become?; more police officers will be on patrol throughout this place..

If you little punks need money to support your weed, beer and junk food habit, go pick up cans. Take come on advise and stay away from Great Mountain. We are on the lookout now. Please stay away from this side of town when you decide to rob again. Think about what Tony Montana said. Say hello to my little friend. You were warned.
