Man refuses to accept Sandy Lane report he has ‘underlying issue’
Magistrate Richards told the court of the very good report that was received from the Sandy Lane Centre in favour of Mr Scatliffe. The report stated that he was no longer smoking, was very receptive to change, wanted to be a role model in society and is no longer with the friends that he previously had.
The man, who was placed before the Magistrate’s Court on a drug related offence, was obviously surprised when the Senior Magistrate said, “… but there is one problem” and told him that the report stated he has an underlying issue that needs to be resolved.
“The only thing I can say is that the issue is not with me, the problem got to be with the lady there; something wrong with the lady at the front desk!” Scatliffe told the court. While Ms Richards insisted that the report did not outline what the “underlying issue” was, the man said he had a problem with the woman at the front desk at Sandy Lane Centre as he alleged she was very forgetful and never remembers what is told to her.
The Magistrate ordered that Scatliffe continues to attend sessions at the Centre and said she wants a report that says he no longer requires counseling when he returns to court on May 2, 2014.
