CANE GARDEN BAY, Tortola, VI- Furious for not being allowed into a Cane Garden Bay suparmarket without wearing a mask, a man used his bare fist to punch the glass entrance door, causing it to crack.

The incident reportedly occurred yesterday July 5, 2020, at  Bobby's Suparmarket during daytime hours.

First encounter

It is our newsroom's information that the staff at the store had two encounters with the man within a short period.

It is said that in the first instance the man came to the store very untidy and smelly and without a mask on his face. As he entered the store, the staff informed him of the "No Mask, No Service' policy in effect.

The man reportedly became infuriated and began using offensive language in a loud tone of voice. He then left.

Irate man returns

According to reports, shortly after the man returned without wearing a mask.

As he attempted to enter the establishment; however, the staff locked the door. This caused the man to be even further infuriated and he punched the door, which caused it to develop cracks.

Officers of the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force were called in and upon investigating the accused was spotted.

When he saw police approaching, he attempted to escape but was pursued and caught by police, arrested and questioned.

He reportedly admitted to the allegations against him.

I wish you Ignorant fools would stop using the term Island people, as a race you should understand. Yes when invited to another man home you should respect the culture, but that bs needs to stop the VI is a freaking Island and if any of you fools travel you would realize in my instances there isn't much of a different in terms of standard.

Yes "VIlander" and you make it better by calling people fools. Maybe we should call them Garrots like Marcus Garvey described the people from a certain island after they stole his luggage. Also, these same people used to call BVI "cowboy country".

Leave race out of this, I have more respect for some white people than for many of these Island People who are here undermining us.

Thanks for that tidbit. Never knew how " garrot" came into being.
Live and learn....and what Island people was it who stole Garvey's luggagge?
Bet you have many historical trivia tucked away .
By the way, do you recall a local Calypsonian ,Lord Hamburger? Took a photo with him and got his autograph when I was a youngster. My first celebrity contact. Often wonder what happened to him

There is a reason why we have no current cases of COVID-19 here.... it’s because we instituted guidelines to contain its spread to others by either mask wearing, washing hands or social distancing....but hey lets throw all that away and let everybody who think a few minutes with one on your face in a store that can potentially be shut down just to appease one idiot who obviously doesn’t care about anyone but himself.... lets stop quarantining people arriving here..... hell let me start coughing on every food item in rite way since there’s no corona here..... we are given an opportunity to carry out our daily business with the belief of being responsible but obviously we’re too stupid to understand that.... I’m certain the tune would be different if he was a carrier and Bobby’s allowed him access .... but hey that’s how life works.... also it’s not being a sheep.....it’s being cautious.....

SPELL-CHECK....either you don’t know how to use it or think your spelling is above reproach.....it diminishes your opinion because people will assume an ‘idiot’ wrote that.....

I have a feeling that those are the laziest and jealous of us .On the other hand why don’t the good people here say something about the negative comments. That shows that the majority of you people have ayo knees on Island People. I am just saying white people have their hands down ayo throats and ain’t no way to get it out so to breathe the only thing ayo can do is to take your frustrations out on poor Island People. So sad! By the way what happen to all you Church People.God Bless these Virgin Islands

I am BVIslander with documented proof as far back as the 1800. Currently, there are many races and ethnicities whose voluntary choice it has been to benefit from the unselfish generosity of these VI. As a result,a specific demography, ethnicity and race hass contributed to the dramatic degradation of the once high quality of life in the VI. This has necessitated a thousandfold imported police force presence from that same demography. This proves the universal accepted theory that Blacks are murderers, thieves, unruly and of wilful, uncontrollable ,criminal mindset. That demographic is not Whites or Yellows. For starters the VI has had to increase its Police Force one thousand fold and a relatively new prison has quickly gone beyond its population capacity. Whether directly from or offsprings with one or both parents from that demographic are the inmates. This too can be said for the USVI. Globally, deportations from the same demographic location,is a constant.
Just saying, sumting wrong wide allyo and that is a fact!!!!Simply look at the daily goings as on of the countries of your birth that you left ,the continuity which allyo want to implement in another man country, accept truth, fix it and become proud to be you and wherever you came from...Pass it on to your next generation and there would be no need to be begging respect and money from some place other than your naturally endowed homeland.

A shop is NOT A PUBLIC PLACE and owners can choose who they let in their premises. If they say no smoking, no eating, no bare chest, wear a mask, that is their right. Nothing to do with govt.
