Man held in Robbery escapes from Hospital; recaptured by Police

The escaped man is now back at the Peebles Hospital, hopefully under tighter security. Photo: VINO/File
ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI: Reports reaching our newsroom is that the same man who was held on suspicion of attempting to rob Stones Jerk Stand in Long Bush on the morning of June 30, 2018, is in trouble again.

The young man was taken to Peebles Hospital in Road Town after being beaten for his alleged attempted robbery.  However, this morning Sunday July 1, 2018, he jumped through a window at Peebles Hospital and escaped.

His freedom did not last for long as he was recaptured shortly after by swift Police work and remains a patient at the Hospital, according to senior hospital sources.

It is expected that tighter security measures have been or will be put in place to curtail any further attempts to escape.

We will bring you more details as the information unfolds.

Please put this guy in prison up on the hill. If he escaped from Peebles then he is no longer 'injured'

The boy is not right in the head. His family need to make the decision to have him put in an off Island treatment facility before he seriously hurt someone. Honestly, prison is not going to help. That dude is like a ticking time bomb. If the citizens did not pounce on him, he could have killed the young lady from the food stand.
