ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – Mentoring Anointed Leaders Everywhere (M.A.L.E.) continues to provide guidance to youths of the Territory and has given due recognition to two deserving young men who have stood out over and above their peers by giving them book scholarships.

At a session held in the halls of the Althea Scatliffe Primary School on Saturday September 13, 2014, Pastor Henderson K. Tittle spoke to this news site explaining the rationale behind the giving of the awards.

“Today we gave out a book scholarship to one of the M.A.L.E. representatives and what we did we went to the different graduations and we look for the most improved boy and from the Willard Wheatley Primary School we have Shaquan S. Lowry,” he said.

“We have also Michael G. Ricketts who has received a book scholarship for the entire term and for every A that he receives a sum of $10 will be placed on his account in M.A.L.E.,” said Pastor Tittle. King Solomon's Ashlars Lodge #778 (KSA), a local Pince Hall Masonic Fraternity, through M.A.L.E., provided the book scholarship for Michael.

"We just wanted to showcase this. M.A.L.E. is about reaching the boys. What we are really teaching them is about being responsible. We want to see how they would take care of their books and everything assigned to them,” he said, on the interactive session that was in progress.

“Teaching them about responsibility is part of our core values that we are doing,” he said.

He noted that over the summer the boys had to look at the book The Pentateuch by Ayana S. Hull “and their assignment was to read pages 26, 27 and 28 which talks about the story of Cain and Abel and we’re teaching them how to work together as brothers instead of fighting.”

M.A.L.E. is an initiative of the New Life Baptist Church and it aims to develop young men using the teachings of the Bible.

Imagin that his good work is not what your looking at... your more concerned with his hair. So if he cut his hair and stop being possitive and productive, would you be happy then? He is not his hair, he is the fruits of his labour.

Have it occurred to you that JESUS, Samson and other bible names may have had locks. Just think for a moment and answer this question. When was comb and hair brush invented, before JESUS came on the scene or after? Your hair does not have anything to do with your character. Whatever a man thinks begins in the mind and heart not the hair. Pastor Henderson K. Tittle has come a long way and I applaud him for what he is doing with the youths, keep up the good works. I trust that other males in the community will also do their part to work with our youths in whatever way they can.

your hair shouldn't judge you for who you are or what you do as a person. just because he has dreads doesn't make him any different from any other pastor out there. If whats going on in the states haven't open your eyes to false judgement, Then you my friend is no different than any other hypocrite out there. NEVER JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS COVER.

@ respect!!!!! You are so ignorant and narrow minded. What in the name of creation does his hair whether it be dreadlocks, braids, plaits or bald has to do with anything. When someone starts to grow locks it's a personal decision. Most kids that have dreadlocks these days, the mother and father is into the culture. I don't see how having dreadlocks and what he is teaching will affect any child. He is not telling them to start grow dreadlocks.

So I guess his hair is a crime , and the young ppl should do the opposite of helping others like he is doing
