ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- Reports reaching our newsroom from our Team of Reporters around the Virgin Islands state that law enforcement authorities, including Police and Customs officials, allegedly made a major drug bust in Virgin Islands waters.

It is not exactly clear when the interception was made or the location.

Arrests have been made but it is not clear whether any charges have been laid as yet.

Virgin Islands News Online is working on the details to this story and will keep you updated as more information comes in.

Meanwhile, moments after querying with Police Information Officer Diane Drayton about the reports, the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) issued a press release confirming our story.

"A joint operation at sea conducted by BVI Customs and the U.S. Coast Guard late last night has resulted in the arrest of two men and the seizure of a quantity of cocaine. The two men and the go-fast boat they were in are presently in police custody. No charges have been laid. Police investigations are ongoing," the press release sent out minutes ago, February 3, 2016 stated.
