ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – For the leaders and members of the GRATE BVI Music Alliance, today August 25, 2015 is marked as a significant day in the history of the group as they release the first musical product which comes as a beat that sees an international artiste, Luciano, doing more than just taking monies to perform for one night on stage and leave the territory.

The group has a new thrust called ‘The Alliance Anthem’ a product of the 2014 New Year’s Eve party where they had featured Jamaican reggae icon Luciano.

As the group had indicated even at the time of planning the New Year’s Eve event, it was not bringing the international artist just to perform for one night and leave but that there was a bigger objective.

“Not only was he here as a guest to us being hired to perform but we took pride in putting in some other stipulations in as far as he leaving something here with us that could help grow our music industry,” said President of the GRATE BVI Music Alliance Mr Eustace ‘Boss’ Freeman in an exclusive interview with this news site last evening, August 24, 2015.

The group that advocates strongly for local artistes in the Virgin Islands related that having international artists make a more meaningful contribution to the territory’s music industry and its local talents, other than just a one night stage performance, has been something they have been pushing for and today they are leading by example with the release of their first in a series of productions to come.

The project that will be heard for the first time by the general public today August 25, 2015 is a rhythm that was created by Mr Freeman, along with a few other Alliance members including Mr Alton Bertie who did some invaluable production work on the piece.

“What we did was to fuse a number of members from the Alliance, along with Luciano, on one track,” explained Mr Freeman. Artistes are Jay Jay, Maccabee, Drastic, Ritseeniyah, Paul ‘Gadiethz’ Peart, Boss and Luciano.

Peart, who is one of the group’s new and budding artistes, is also the Marketing Personnel for the GRATE BVI Music Alliance and commencing today will be pushing the new release.

Peart told this news site during the combined interview with Mr Freeman that this is the first of more to come. “This is just the first section of a multi compilation that was done. The reason why this is so important is because the GRATE BVI Music Alliance always has an intention of fusing the music industry,” said Mr Peart.

”With the international artiste of this calibre like Luciano, it shows that the GRATE BVI Music Alliance is leading the way when it comes to fostering these relationships and we hope that it can grow more,” added Mr Peart.

He also related that the second production set to come out may have another international artiste.

just a mouth piece and tying to make himself look good in the eyes of people and the BVI government, but the truth is he don’t give a s%^t about the BVI, when you hear him talking saying he does pay tax over the radio, everyone pays tax where ever they live as long as they working in the country, nonsense he is just trying to jump on board and see what he could make of it, he’s all about money his own country people have a problem with him and don’t like his @$z.

It's a step, but with the wrong leaders - since they made blunders. Why?
-Poor production, and only Drastic and Ritseeinjah are standouts lyrically - poor writing otherwise.
-Peart basically recycled Marley's lyrics mixed with common one-liners, and now makes the whole effort liable for copyright infringement (we know the Marley's love to sue).
-Why they chose a minor key for an anthem is beyond me - wrong mood.
