ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- It was all about the love last evening March 4, 2012 at La Piazza, Prospect Reef where the Shine-I Album Debut Explosion was held.

Whether persons wanted to shake a leg or not, the love vibe was definitely felt throughout the event as each artiste sought to share it in their choice of songs.

The feature act was of course Jah Vinci of Jamaica who put on the perfect act to bring the curtain down on the show, which was held to celebrate the launch of Shine-I’s debut album “The Foundation”.

Shine-I, born Darius Semper, released his first album ‘The Foundation’ on Thursday January 12, 2012. The album consists of 14 tracks and includes popular songs such as ‘I Got it Bad’, ‘I Know’ and ‘Bright N Morning Star’. “This event will endorse the album and local talent. I believe it is a positive way to endorse music into society and celebrate the calibre of talent that we as artistes hold. This is our Jah given talent and it comes natural for us like daily routines and we want to celebrate that,” Shine-I had told Virgin Islands News Online.

Other performers last evening were Empress Ruth; Maccabee, whose songs included My Empress and Watch Your Friends; Rittical with Love is the Greatest and I Wish u the Best among others; Madda Nile, whose songs included Mama Strong and Dream Big; and Infamus.

Infamus, who was born in Virgin Gorda, but lives in St. Kitts hyped the crowd with his songs Sometimes I feel like Crying and 21 Gun Salute.

The Hardcore Band of Virgin Gorda also added to the entertainment.

The only negative thing I have to say about this show is that we don't have enough of them. This night would show anyone BVI HAVE TALENT. The youths need to see the support that we give to each other, so that they can know when they start to rise we are below them pushing them even higher. The more we forget to look in the more our youths would think it is not worth it to walk the right path. BVILanders we have power and we have talent. Let us shine. This show was massive, I am looking forward to the release of Maccabee's album in June.
