BELLE VUE, Tortola, VI – Lions are the Champions of the Annual 6th District Basketball Tournament, having completed a 2-0 sweep of Live and Direct on Sunday March 20, 2016 at the Gym in Belle Vue, Tortola.

Game one on Saturday March 19, 2016 had seen the Lions snatch an overtime victory, 92 – 89, and then secured the championship with a 101-81 victory the following day.

The MVP was Dione M. Blyden of Lions.

The league went well. Teams were for the most part evenly matched, which led to very competitive games. I thought the two best teams made it to the championship and the best team came out champions. Community turnout was good but next year we would like to see it move from good to great. Thanks to every one for supporting, especially Hon Alvera Maduro-Caines and her team for making it possible,” commented Cadafee “Boss” Freeman, one of the tournament organisers.

      All deeds basketball leagues are struggling

        Since you realize they struggling, do something to help and not be so negative. Is all about the players and not us the fans. I have been to every game and there was no forfeiture of any. The young men appreciated this league and I admire the zeal and zest they played with.
