ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- Following the announcement by Government on Wednesday, March 25, 2020 that the Virgin Islands will be on 24-hour curfew from 8:00pm on Friday, March 27, 2020 to 6:00am April 2, 2020, persons have started to flock at supermarkets to stock up for the lock-down.

From as early as 6:00am today, March 26, 2020, lines-made longer by social distancing- began to form outside various shopping centres on Tortola, long before some stores opened.

Business establishment have been ordered not to include more than 20 persons in their place of business, in keeping with the mass gathering restrictions.

Further, some businesses have created markings in their stores to ensure customers keep their distance while shopping.

Premier and Minister of Finance, Honourable Andrew A. Fahie (R1) had also suggested that some stores do a numbering system and also allow online and telephone orders where possible.

Further, shoppers were encouraged to not queue up in lines but rather stay in their cars until it is their time to enter the stores.

'Let us order ourselves'- Premier Fahie

"Let us order ourselves because we have always been a people of order," Premier said on Wednesday, March 25, 2020.

According to him, the curfew is to ensure that all measures are in place to ensure the safety of the people in the Virgin Islands.

"This is a next measure we are taking so that we can make sure we contain the spreading of the virus."

When you catch the meaning the form of words becomes irrelevant.

When you consider the assertation of power we are witnessing globally by authority figures that has stemmed from this virus of mysterious origins, it raises many questions.

Ever wonder how the holocaust happened? This is very similar to how it happened.

They make you believe there is a problem that must be gotten rid of at all cost and anyone who disagrees, is deemed to be not of sound mind due to the very 'real' nature of the problem.

No need to stockpile every thing is fine! peachy!
Everyone mandated to stay inside 24/7, in this first instance. stockpile now!

Slow trickle of information from the government. We need transparency. FROM THE TOP. This is a war against a virus not a person, there is no benefit to not share every bit of information surrounding how this problem will be dealt with. step 1 step 2 step 3 step 4

The crowding as people scramble to get supplies could have been avoided. I do not think they thought of this 24/7 curfew overnight.

Next up it will be mandatory to get vaccinated.

Or it will be solved by the 'summer heat', everyone go back to normal, as they collect the global data from this test.

In other news this series of events lays up a straight shot for a democratic president, as Donald who wants to restart the economy, wasn't clued in on the plan to destabilize the economy.

The weather is warming up, but this war on corona virus makes me feel cold.

Praise be to the most high. Ruler of rulers.

The worst thing leaders can do is look at things from their own perspective only. People were told not to binge shop. Those commentators live comfily at home with their spouses, their myopic minds cannot fathom that there are many households with ravenous teenage, with extended families, and that many people shop with the mind of sharing with elderly relatives and others. While a 12 pack of toilet paper may last them 2months a 24 pack cannot last in many households for 2 months. Is the person who buys a 48 pk panic shopping, really? The Bible speaks about preparation but some fools only offer blind advice. Post Irma traumatic curfews and outdoor supermarket lines are still fresh in the minds of people. Who feels it knows it - stop judging people.
