LIME mobile service fully restored to JVD residents
Customers in JVD reported to Virgin Islands News Online that their mobile phones had been experiencing problems over the past week with some handsets being switched to roaming automatically.
According to the LIME BVI Facebook page, the company’s 4G service had been completely restored yesterday January 2, 2014, and announcement was made that its voice and data service were in the process of being restored.
The company apologised for the inconvenience and announced that affected customers were to be reimbursed.
In an invited comment, General Manager of LIME BVI, Mr. Sean Auguste said that the situation was challenging but staff had been working for extended hours to fix the problem and both the 4G and 2G mobile services have now been restored.
Fixed line (landline) and internet service have also been completely restored to customers of the island after being down for several days from around mid-December, 2013.
Mr. Auguste had reportedly been instrumental in liaising with affected customers directly and offering temporary solutions to the problem which plagued the residents over the Christmas period before it had been fixed completely.
