Legs start season in search of 3-peat in National Basketball League
Having skipped 2015 with various issues with registrations and conflicts with venue availability, plus the hosting of the CBC Championships, the Federation has now planned an Opening Ceremony for Saturday.
Schedule
League action starts with the Young Starz vs Another Level followed by the night's headliner, Kings vs Legs.
Both Fearless and Legs duly completed championship series sweeps in the BVI Basketball Federation's “Short and Sweet, Back on our Feet” tournament in 2014.
Fearless, the defending Junior Champions, played against And One, with the final score a very comfortable 100-75. The victory gave Fearless a second successive championship.
The Senior Division Championship brought the 2014 season to an end with Legs romping to a 96-84 Game Two win to also sweep the series 2-0 and also successfully defend their championship.
For those with long memories, the Legs had seen off the Kings in a best of 3 thriller to reach the 2014 Final, with the decider going to the eventual champions, 99-98.
With less than 21 seconds to go the Legs were down by 4 points, but sunk a “3” from downtown and then Kennedy H. Bass drew a foul, scoring both free throws to hand his team the victory.
