ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – Tortola horses Leave it to Bern, Good Boy Daddy and Winaholic join a slew of horses making their debut in the re-arranged Labour Day races at the Clinton E. Phipps Racetrack on St Thomas, USVI on Sunday September 15, 2013.

Leave It To Bern, owned by the Boyz Stables, is the first horse to be partially funded through a $10,000 grant given to the local horse owners association and will run in Race 5 - The Joseph "Bob Love" Sprauve Memorial Race over one mile and 40 yards. Also featured in the race will be Sweet Sight and two other horses on debut: Prince of Speed and Break Up the Game.

The purse is $4500.

Some 12 horses in total are set to make their debut at the Clinton E. Phipps Racetrack.

The final race of the day features an all-star cast with veterans Twisted Dream, Diablo's Fire and Mr. Gold Prospect competing over one mile for a $4,300 purse. Rounding out the field are Edge Ahead and Winaholic (of Tortola), who will both be making their debuts.

Imperial Award, one of the top mares on St. Croix, will be part of a five-horse field in the feature race "The Queens First Dance”. The race is the seventh of eight on the schedule with post time of the first race at 2 P.M.

The $6,000 Queen's First Dance, a one-mile race scheduled for 4:50 P.M., includes Ohbabyobeyme, Mae Ruler, and two horses making their debuts - Stephen Got Better and One Eye Cap.

Race 4 also packs some appeal and has a payout of $4,500 each. The Open Sprint over 6 furlongs will include former top V.I. horse Slevin taking on Bambi Bound and rookie Swagg Daddy

Race 1 - Class C and D Mares/Fillies; 6 furlongs, $3,500

 La Nina W (debut), Willa Bella, More Current, Adams Reye's (debut), Benny Southstreet (debut)

Race 2 - Class D Horses; 7½ furlongs; $3,500

 Weir's Gap, What’s Poppin, Daddy’s Dream, Good Boy Daddy (Tortola), Extra Brew,

Race 3 - Class C Horses; 1 mile; $4,000

 Tiger Glider, A Cat That Flies, Ya Ya's Rules (debut), Schatt the Bandit (debut), Warrior's Cove, All Country

Tthere will also be a Kids Derby Race for children 7 to 10 years of age, covering half a furlong with a purse of $115.
