GREENLAND, Tortola, VI- Two women were reportedly assaulted by a male relative at Greenland, Tortola, following a verbal dispute that started after he complained about being disturbed by noise while he was still in bed shortly after 7:00am on Tuesday, August 4, 2020.

According to reports reaching our newsroom, the sister of the man was on her mobile phone and doing her chores on the porch of the home when the man became enraged, accusing her of disturbing his sleep.

It is said the accused got out of his bedroom and charged to hit his sister when the mother attempted to intercept but was thrown to the ground.

I believe it depends if he has lineage to the VI or USVI. If his parents were born elsewhere and migrated to the USVI then there’s a difference.

@ @ vi.. I take it that the poster was just being a bit sarcastic since we are always blaming everything on "island people". As a BVIslander, that word is not in my vocabulary. I know a professed "Christian" from here, who was married to someone from another island in the Caribbean, who referred to people as Island People. I just used to wonder which "God" they were serving. It doesn't matter that you may say you are referring to the people from "down island". That too is a discriminatory term that people have obviously adapted from their forefathers. But we must change that wrong way of thinking and get rid of our unrealized Ignorance. If you learn the right way to do something, should you continue doing it the wrong way? The Choices we make can make such a Big Difference in the way we see and treat others.

Young man by 7:00 A.M. I have already put in 2 hours of daily work. You need a good solid A** whipping for acting like such a D**k head. You want to sleep without being disturbed, get out of mommy’s house and go rent and pay for your own crib. Is he a mama’s boy?

So many people don't have a job right now, what are you saying? Be grateful you have one and the news never give the full story is always the one who give the story to the police or the snitch. Act like you know Talktola

Then he should get his arse up and help do chores you can’t be not working and sleeping later than who is working... not contributing and making noise... either get up and help or get up and go look for something as simple as cleaning the road

Dude talking about disturbing his sleep. MAYBE HE IS A MAMA’S SUCK SUCK AKA MOMMYS BOY. You don’t want your sleep disturbed, go rent you own spot where you can sleep for hours and not be disturbed.

Even in your own apt where you pay rent, it has people who either pay rent like you (neighbors) or the people that they have over and they all be making noise.
