SOUTH CAROLINA, USA- Commonwealth champion and Virgin Islands star athlete, Kyron A. McMaster has established a new national indoor record for the 600m.

McMaster, who specialises in the 400m Hurdles, broke the record of 1:20.32 seconds set by Adriano Gumbs in 2019.

The 2-time Diamond League Champion, McMaster, clocked 1:17.65 for a 3rd place finish at the Clemson Orange & Purple Elite Indoor Track Meet held at the Clemson Indoor Track and Field Complex in South Carolina, USA on January 9, 2021.

McMaster went to the front from the sound of the gun and led for 400m but was overtaken by eventual race winner Kameron Jones (1:16.16) just after the sound of the bell lap.

With 100m to go McMaster was unable to hold off a charging Rajay Hamilton (1:17.70) and had to settle for third, albeit a national record time.

The Women’s 600m was won by Jamaica’s 800 metres record holder Natoya Goule.

The 29-year-old Goule clocked 1 minute, 26.80 seconds.

The BVI only support the athletes after they’ve accomplished something amazing. It’s fake support! People in the BVI should learn from Jamaica on how to support their own before goal

THE BVI IS ALWAYS LOOKING FOR BRAGGING RIGHTS WHEN SOMEONE LEAVE THE ISLAND AND BECOME FAMOUS IN THE US.
