ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI - This morning January 26, 2015 when Kenyetta Boynes appeared before Senior Magistrate Tamia Richards at the Magistrate's Court at John's Hole he pleaded guilty the charges of unlawful possession of ‎16.5 grams of cannabis, an AK 47 assault rifle and possession of 17 rounds of ammunition.

In the presence of his attorney Patrick Thompson, after the charges were read and he pleaded guilty, the court heard that on December 18, 2014 as officers of the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) moved in on Boynes at his Lower Estate home where he was informed of the search warrant.

In executing the warrant Boynes pointed the officer to his bedroom and above an AC unit they found a bag containing which was later confirmed to be cannabis. The court in fact was told that it was Boynes himself who told the Police Officer, "That's weed, that's mine."

Later that same morning at around 7:30 am Boynes was led by Police Officers to the family business where it was said he was the main man and a search unearthed the weapon, ammunition, a bag and clothing which were found concealed in the ceiling above a conference room/office area.

When the find was shown to Boynes he made no response and he was cautioned and taken to the Road Town Police Station.

The find included ‎clothing, 4 rolls of 7.62 ammunition and a magazine which had 13 rounds of ammunition. One round was in breach in the magazine.

The court also heard that the accused admitting to the drugs, arms and ammunition being his. He had told police that he had found the guns and ammunition in a Ghut in Huntums Ghuts prior, and that he had played around with it and had decided to keep it but had never shot anyone with it.

He also told the interviewing officers that some of the rounds had fallen out in the bag which he had put the gun in.

The father of two, whom as his lawyer reminded had previous convictions, is to return to court February 25, 2015. Given the opportunity through his lawyer, Boynes opted not to say anything in court today but his lawyer said that if he decides on saying anything he will do so in writing which will be submitted to the court.

why people still saying RIP Paul? what does one have to do with the other? don't you think if he had something to do with paul's death it would be known by now? being hold with a gun don't make nobody a "bad man" almost everybody on this island or I should say around the VI even the WORLD has some means of protection around them! he didn't get caught shooting anyone they found the gun in a roof top ! tortola people need to stop throwing stones and check themselves or even their own children before they talk about others.

and you sound like one of his many haters. you don't seem to be reading the news? plenty of young men and women get caught up in the system for numerous things. he was careless yes and I don't give him right! but like the person above said stop throwing stones and check yourself or children if u have! you out of place for talking about the man's parents like that! people say anything in court whether he found it or bought still doesn't make him a man of bad character neither does it make him a murderer

R.I.P Paul ? Because he was found with a gun around the time Paul got murdered makes him a murderer ? Because he has a gun , he thinks he is a bad man ? He acts like a bad man is that because he's Real and stand his ground ? I have known this dude for years and he educated me positively so much about life. Guns are illegal and so is cannabis but he is one of MANY who posses those things I can safely say that !
