Julio S. Henry challenges remaining Ministers to force elections
This is despite the fact that the country will be going to the polls for General Election by April 16, 2019. In one of his familiar ‘selfie’ commentary yesterday, November 16, 2018, Mr Henry questioned, “what is Dr Smith waiting on….Dr Smith what are you waiting on, what is the hold up?”
Speaking directly to the Premier Smith via his broadcast, Mr Henry suggested, “you have no government, none…You have nothing, your NDP government all the fabrication, all of the misinformation, the misleading, it’s now revealing itself.”
Call it Quits
He admonished the Premier, to “Call it quits and move forward.”
Henry recalled that it was just a few years back that Premier and his Cabinet members lauded the performance of the Territory saying “how great things were…How you were doing such a wonderful job that you just needed a little more time to finish the job.”
Blasting Premier Smith, the outspoken Henry said, “…you weren’t doing a good job then, and you haven’t done a good job now but yet you still holding on to this thing.”
Leadership Authority
Making it clear that he is no supporter of Minister of Education and Culture—who was also not so long ago elected chairman of theNDP, Honourable Myron V. Walwyn (AL), Mr Henry suggested the Premier smith should completely give up all leadership authority to him.
“Turn it loose, give up this thing to Myron, let Myron plot he own direction, let he plot he own chart. Move out of the way. I am not supporting Myron but I am simply saying it’s the right thing to do.”
Henry was in high praises of Honourable Archibald C. Christian (AL) who was two days ago fired by Premier Smith from the historic post of Junior Minister of Tourism.
“He is a back bencher, he was given a little portfolio to make a little extra money as Junior Minister of Tourism…..he is a founding member, is one of the key players in the party, he didn’t get a Ministry so he got a chance to make a little extra money,” he said while noting, “Archie is one of them guys I highly respect because even though for me he was a little bit late, I understand the structure of the party system, I understand the structure of the government system…”
Jumping Bandwagon
Henry, in turning his focus on Ms Shaina B. Smith—who also recently resigned from the NDP—said, “Shaina left saying she leaving for party that’s more progressive. Well Shaina, what makes (Honourable) Ronnie (W. Skelton (AL))more progressive?”
The popular commentator also laid out a gauntlet saying, “…Shaina I got a challenge for you (Hon) Ronnie, and all the rest of you who are now jumping on a band wagon the Ronnie band wagon…f Ronnie is so progressive and Ronnie has the leadership skills that’s necessary to lead the next party, here is a simple challenge…..Ronnie if you are the true leader that you are proposing and you got a lot of people who are behind you who are money backers…….now is the chance to show true leadership, otherwise stop talking about Myron.”
He challenged Hon Skelton and his other supporters in cabinet including Deputy Premier and Minister for Natural Resources and Labour Dr the Honourable Kedrick D. Pickering to “Cross the floor by, Monday morning.”
Justifying this, he said, by Skelton and the others not resigning from the NDP yet is leaving “Archie” in the wind and as it is being touted Hon Skelton is the Leader of the Progressive Virgin Islands Movement (PVIM),
“Fault the government, force an election,” he said, in his challenge.
Henry claimed that Hon Walwyn has more leadership qualities, “Myron got more leadership than ayo (Skelton and crew), he is more progressive than ayo, he is out there whether you agree with him or not he is leading a team and showing leadership in his ability to be brave and stand up for what he believe in.”

We already know that election must be held by 16th April so please stop the noise!
It’s a sad state of affairs when a sitting member of government is plotting his breakaway while pretending to be onboard. Tell me, y wote de ole brass?
