James Leonard Sr of Cooper Island laid to rest @ sea

EAST END, Tortola, VI- Some two weeks plus after he was found unresponsive in the waters on May 17, 2017 off his native Cooper Island and later pronounced dead, 40 year old James Leonard Sr has been laid to rest.

The funeral service for Mr Leonard aka 'Jamesy' was held yesterday June 3, 2017 at the East End Methodist Church with officiating Minister being the Reverend Joyce Rohan. In attendance were family, friends and former school mates of Mr Leonard Sr.

After the service, which started at 9:30 AM, Mr Leonard was buried at sea some 5 miles off Cooper Island, a small island on the Virgin Islands archipelago where he lived for many years.

The deceased is survived by his mother Ms Jean Leonard, father Mr John Leonard Sr and a son James Leonard Jr. He is also survived by sisters Hayma Steel, Sherma Steeves and Marion P. Leonard and brother John Leonard Jr.
