ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- In an indictable matter brought before the Magistrate's Court on August 22, 2012, Jamaican national and resident of the Virgin Islands, Anthony Alexander, who is currently facing rape charges brought against him by the Crown, was placed on $70,000 bail with a $10,000 cash component and two sureties.

Other bail requirements, handed down by Magistrate Tamia Richards were that Mr. Alexander are to report to the East End Police Station every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, as well as stay away from the Virtual Complainant (VC).

According to court records, allegedly, the VC in this matter was standing on 42nd Street in East End looking for a ride to go to visit her aunt in Parham Town, when the defendant drove by and offered her a ride.

The court understood that the defendant and the VC, allegedly knew each other for four years, and got into an intimate relationship which ended in May 2012.

Leslie-Ann Faulkner who appeared for the crown, indicated that according to the VC, the relationship between the two ended because she found out he was sleeping with another female.

Ms. Faulkner informed the court that on August 19, 2012, around 10:45 am, the defendant allegedly offered the VC a ride, which she accepted.

It was stated that while in the vehicle, the defendant, travelling towards town, started kissing her and touching her and the VC asked him to stop.

Allegedly, the man drove past Parham Town, and headed to Beef Island. The report indicated that upon realisation of this, the VC attempted to open the door, when he passed her destination, in hopes that he would stop but he didn’t.

The court was further informed that the defendant allegedly drove straight to Little Mountain, on Beef Island, parked the jeep, climbed over on the VC and told her he wanted to have sex, which she said no to and asked him to stop.

Allegedly, the man forcefully pulled down the VC’s pants and underwear, and in a struggle, had sexual intercourse.

Statements coming from the VC stated that Mr. Alexander allegedly held both her hands over her head, and that he wasn’t wearing a condom and he ejaculated in her.

The court was further informed that after the act, the VC allegedly jumped out of the vehicle and stood on the roadside, where she then got a ride into town, straight to the East End police Station, where she made a complaint and informed officers of what had just occurred.

Magistrate Richards informed the defendant that rape is one of the most serious offences, one that carries life imprisonment.

Mr. Alexander’s next court appearance is on October 2, 2012.

I must say the VC has credibility as she when to the police station right after the reported rape.... so you see she did not go home and clean up before pursuing the case!!!! 1000 percent truth to her story! she does have credibility and this kind of terror on women must stop.

I am so sick and tired of these low class Jamaicans coming into people's country and carrying on with disgraceful behaviour. We are given the opportunity to come in and earn a living, live among people of another country and yet we can't behave ourselves?! I am so sick and tired of fellow Jamaicans who continue to give Jamaicans a bad name. Sometimes I am really ashamed to be identified as a Jamaican. So many of us work hard, abide by the law and contribute to societies in which we are allowed to work and live; only to have those who have no pride in themselves or their country come about and just create havoc! It is sickening and I am so tired of it! Jamaicans, let's get our act together! Aren't you tired of hearing the negative things that people have to say about us?

How the hell can they be heading into "town" and drove to Beef Island and the East End Police station you clown reporter. East End is not "town". East End is East End.

I was wondering the same thing. It said he picked her up on 42nd street then travelling towards town, pass Parham Town and headed to Beef Island. That one is confusing knowing where 42nd Street is located. He would've had to turn around to pass Parham Town. He was cheating on her with another woman, but he also has a wife! WOW! Some men are just terrible and NASTY! Please note a said SOME.

'' Standing on '''42nd''' Street '' hehe, that almost made it sound like our streets on tortola are organised and properly named. Mehson, just say ''across by alphonso gas station'' or ''the corner by panchee house'' or ''after the speed bump by parham town'' or across from the junkyard by fat hogs bay. Buh ''42nd street'' hehehehee
