ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- Maybe it’s the Acting Chief Immigration Officer, Geraldine Ritter-Freeman, who got a big surprise or maybe it’s someone on her staff.

Whoever the person is, it is a great Valentine’s day.

Whose gift?

Someone was surprised with a new BMW that came with a bow and even chocolate. The posh automobile was parked in front of Immigration Department at the Road Town headquarters today Wednesday February 14, 2018.

There is wide speculation that it may have been a gift for Mrs Ritter-Freeman, from her husband; however, our newsroom cannot independently confirm, or verify this information.

But whoever is receiver of this brand new BMW must be well deserving, especially if they work at the Immigration Department, with the stress and criticism that come with the job.

The Government run Immigration Department has been under fire in the past months, following Hurricanes Irma and Maria, for alleged poor service and long lines.

Once our newsroom is able to verify who is the giver and the recipient, we would of course tell our readers.

UPDATE: Our newsroom can confirm that the new BMW car was a gift to the Acting Chief Immigration Officer, Geraldine Ritter-Freeman, from her husband Edward Freeman aka 'stichee', according to a post on Mrs Ritter-Freeman’s Facebook page.
