ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI - At the earliest possible time team Jaleel through the Jaleel Cameron Foundation hopes to have in hand $40K to fund a scholarship for the training of person/s to operate the Electroencephalograph (EEG) machine.

That machine is a key piece of equipment in use at Peebles Hospital. It which was purchased with $27,000 donated by Jaleel F. Cameron.

In his passionate move to achieve his most burning desire, Jaleel, surrounded by a team who are no less passionate, officially launched the Jaleel Cameron Foundation with a fundraising dinner at Treasure Isle on June 3, 2017. There he made the announcement of his next move.

Present at that ceremony were Premier and Minister of Finance Dr The Honourable D. Orlando Smith (AL), Minister for Education and Culture Honourable Myron V. Walwyn (AL), Junior Minister for Tourism Honourable Archibald C. Christian (AL), Chief Executive Officer of the BVI Health Service Authority (BVIHSA) Ms Paula G. President of the Foundation Mrs Mayfield Daniels told the gathering that they are primarily set up to advocate on behalf of persons suffering from or affected by epilepsy and for the remainder of this year will focus around the areas of alliances and partnerships, fundraising, awareness and support.

Dying wish fulfilled

Team Jaleel was moved by the support they received from Ms Hyacinth Percival, who on her dying bed requested that all monies collected at her funeral service be given to Jaleel. This was done and was the first official donation to the Jaleel Cameron Foundation. For that gesture, the Foundation presented her daughter, Attorney at Law Mary-Lou Creque, with a plaque and memory wall picture in her honour.

Jaleel also launched his website www.jaleelcfoundation.com where persons can track the progress of the Foundation, join and make donations and pledges.

Making a donation to the Foundation at its launch was Miss BVI World through its beauty with a purpose humanitarian component. The presentation was made to Jaleel by the reigning queen Ms Kadia Turnbull. The organisation had honoured Jaleel, naming him philanthropist of the year at their inaugural philanthropic award ceremony. Last night's programme was chaired by franchise holder for the Miss BVI World Mr Damion C. Grange.

This good. Kudos to Jaleel....What we need very very badly is an Angiogram Room with the ability to do stenting.... Get 2 qualified english speaking cardiologist For a Salaty for each of about $55.000.00 yr. one from Cuba and one From Panama...We would save so much money and so much lives....Heart issues are our biggest medical bill... Its all going overseas... We need caring leaders.. Our leaders can go to the best doctors around the world and get the best care at tax payers expenses.... So to hell with the rest of us...My people wake up.. This is serious...

And the young shall lead us- if given the proper, support, care, advice, attention, less criticism, and more listening and keeping an opened-mind to their perspectives without judgment, an education that empowers and not make them more subservient, inferior, and lacking confidence in themselves and their capabilities. Rise-Up young man-CONGRATULATIONS- you are a powerful, beautiful, exemplary being of the Most High.

Truth Doctor I agree. We need to look at our Cardiac situation and address it... Angiogram and stenting why can't those be done here? Jaleel took a cause and make it happen.. Great.. Who will take the cardiac issue up? ...our most expensive Medical bill that we out source...Who will? Can't depend on government...

I see that the two of you haven't learned from this fine example set forth by this exemplary young man. @Truth Doctor, You're expressing about what the hospital needs to do but I don't hear you saying you will take a course of action like Jaleel has done. @Truth Doctor. Lord O. You're even worst. You're asking who will take it up? Instead of asking who, look at the mirror and say YOU! If he did what you two are doing, nothing would get done. Even a child has more sense to do what it takes to move forward than adults. Come on, stop waiting and do!

I'm a Cardiac patient. I have to be going to Jamaica, Panama, Columbia... Though the Cardiologist advise against long travel... Its my only choice....Would it cost 7 Million dollars... This to me is more a priority than an Airline...Saving lives have no Value...Jaleel is a hero...A hero see a need sees a cause and fight for it..."That's a hero"

Its amazing that someone at this age can have their own foundation to give back to the community, Made me think on ways I can make a difference in my community and I will do such.
