BEEF ISLAND, VI - For a very short moment this afternoon June 29, 2014, the BVI Airport Authority was forced to close the Terrance B. Lettsome International Airport as an Island Bird aircraft suffered a blown tyre upon landing.

‎While no one at the local airport responded to phone calls as news reached this news site, knowledgeable experts on the ground informed this news site that Island Bird's Piper Aztec suffered a blown tire on Beef Island as the aircraft was landing on the runway.

‎While it could not have been confirmed whether there were passengers aboard the aircraft it was reported that the owner Bob Lemire was in one of the pilot seats at the time our source got there. It is unclear who was flying the aircraft at the time.

On December 21, 2012, an aircraft suffered a similar fate when attempting to land at the Auguste George Airport in Anegada.

You NDP bloggers wouldn't quit. If this is the way that you think will save the NDP by pretending to be a VIP and mentally pretend to label us a stupid, think again. I've seen this many times before. My heart tell me that it's the skinny minister playing these mind games with the public but keep it up and see where this will get you.
