Irene Mars to face trial for stabbing ex-lover

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – When Irene Mars, a 21 year old young woman appeared before High Court Judge Nicole Byers this morning February 17, 2015 she was informed that her trial will go forward come May 18, 2015.

Mars is being accused of stabbing her ex-lover at her Purcell Estate home in March of 2014. She will be defended in law by Attorney at Law Mr Stephen R. Daniels as it is the Crown’s position to prove her guilty of the offense of wounding.

Based on the facts that were presented to the court at an earlier stage the woman allegedly inflicted wounds on a man said to have been her boyfriend at the time as a consequence of a heated argument that had occurred at her home.

    Let the girl go. I would like to see who this Punk is showing up in court to testify to send a woman he sleep with over and over and over to jail. Maybe if she didn`t stab his aaaassss, she might have been dead.

      I don't know the circumstances and nor do you but because she is a woman she should go free? What kind of world do you think we live in? Whoever stabbed whether male or female should meet the same fate. Guilty is guilty. Some of these women (and I am not judging Ms.mars because it could have been self defence for all I know), but some of these women are downright dangerous

    if their relationship was over then why was he at her home? sounds like he went their to harass her then proberly got physical with her and then she tried to defend herself! Im sure thats how it went. Im not saying that because he is a male means he is wrong but they were arguing at her home and their relationship was already ended. hmmm where are the justice ? this case needs to be handled properly.

    Yes, the man was abusive, for a young man, he's so bloody ignorant, young men like him so be in their own country, he's an ignorant vincy as usual, the one parent home didn't do good for him. For an only son, he's no joy at all. Any young man who beats up his child mothet is an ass and I overstand he was doing it infront of her parent (grand mother I guess) why didn't he beat up his mom and two sisters?

    Clearly you all don't know what is going on. He did not want her back nor did he abuse her. He went to her house to collect clothes for their son whom she neglects and when he turned around to back up the stuff she stabbed him from behind!!! She is mentally unstable and didn't know how to accept the fact that they were not a couple anymore!!!!

    She deserves the maximum jail time.
