Illegal immigrants detained off Norman Island

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI - Police, Immigration and Custom Officers early this morning December 21, 2014 detained 41 illegal migrants on Norman Island.

All are believed to be Haitian nationals.

Among the group were two infants. Information suggests that there may be others still unaccounted for on the island.

The detained migrants were transported to Tortola and are now being held at the Detention Centre at Balsam Ghut.

Investigations are ongoing.

    There is no detention center. They are in jail. Unlike the Cubans these will be detained until remove to demonstrate home country
